Scott T Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I live on a corner lot and I want to duplicate some programming on the side of the house, but I don't want to add more programming lines in the sequence editor.I would like to have two unit #1. Can I have two controllers with the same Unit ID?
jimswinder Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 why not just put a"wye" connector on the channel plugs you want to duplicate, and run extension cords to the other side of the house?
Scott T Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 That would require 16 120' extension cords. It cheaper to add another box.
jimswinder Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 you'll still need cords from the 2nd box...
basis21b Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Yes.http://lightorama.mywowbb.com/view_topic.php?id=19434&forum_id=76On edit: Oops, too slow
Jeff Sand Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 You can. Just be aware that the hardware utility will be fooled and it will only show one of them on the network. Also, if you need to do any hardware configuration (firmware flashing, set hi/lo levels, etc.), you will need to only have one of the boxes hooked up to the network at a time.
medman2000 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Was curious at the earlier post.Using avg non-bulk pricing:16 male and 16 female vampire plugs = $25120 feet of SPT2 = $12.00 x 16 = $192Wow, yea, darn close!Ok back to sequencing. Good luck!
Scott T Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Yea and I have not gone down the SPT route yet. I have been using Lowes 100' & 40' 16ga grounded extension cord.I won't be doing that anymore!
bob Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Just to be explicit, this is not officially supported. It works, at least mostly, but we don't promise that it will continue working in any future updates. Also, one other thing about it that doesn't work, but I don't think was mentioned so far: interactive triggers.
