deblen Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Hi,Hooked up to the network, with the new additional controllers.I have 22 in total. When I scan the network it shows some with Firmware no. 4.02, others with 4.?.If I rescan, it finds and extra couple ID's, Unknown device.Rescan, finds a few more unknown devices. The controllers with the Firmware 4.? still show as a question mark. Will the controllers need to be updated with the ?, or they will be al right to use.Secondly what could be causing the "Unknown devices", as only the 22 controllers are connected. Thanks in advance.Deblen
Davidt Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 G'day Len,What version of the LOR HWU are you running? The current version is 2.6.0. If you are running an older version then it may not be aware of the firmware versions in some of your controllers. The unknown device might be your iDMX, (if you are running an old version of the LOR HWU) which could register as another 16 devices on your network.Cheers and say Hi to Deb,davidt
deblen Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 Hi David,Nice to hear from you.I am running ver 2.6.0 in trhe Hardware Utility, same as the LOR.I only have the controllers connected, as I wanted to check all were reconized first, to see if I had all the ID numbers right, (no Duplicates).Deblen

All you need to worry about is making sure 22 are found. If you're using simmer & twinkle fades, the firmware will have to be upgraded to 4.30 or higher.
deblen Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Hi,Thamks Mountainwaxman,Everytime I do s rerfrersh it finds more and more, I monly have Controllerts on the network, it now has Boatloader DMX inone of the unknown devices. Also there is a Button on the bottom with ELL which blinks a little sign, I have nothing connected to the network apart from the 22 channelsIm am running ver 2.6.0Deblen
Max-Paul Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Deblen, did you connect to each controller, one at a time? Is each controller IDing its self properly? with the correct ID number?Relax son, it appears that your fingers are falling over each other as you type. Sometimes it is so bad it is getting hard to decypher what you are trying to type. The back space key can be your friend. It sure is mine. You would not want to see what I typed, but didnt correct with the back space key..
deblen Posted November 24, 2009 Author Posted November 24, 2009 Hi,Sorry for the spelling, my little fat fingers. It will find most, but then , the unknown could be in the middle, or at the end.I have Emailed Support, to see if they can help as well..Again Thanks.Deblen
Max-Paul Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Ok, from your responce, I gather you have not tried to run a comm cable to each individual controller. That is just one controller at a time on the comm cable, no other unit attached.I acidently had more than one controller with the same ID programmed into it. I got some real crazy responces out of the Hardware Utility program. That is till I found and reprogrammed the ID numbers so only one controller would have the ID number.
