Can You Run Shows Manually?

Recommended Posts

I have tested all of my sequences, but would like to test an entire show now to check timings, etc.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to manually run a whole show, except by scheduling it for a few minutes in the future.

What am I missing?

You get it, that's your only option.

I'm really surprised that isn't an option. It's kind of a pain to schedule a show just to test it.

Haven't tried it myself, but have read that somebody suggested setting to have a show run from 12:01AM to 11:59pm (i.e. all day), and then just "Enable Shows" whenever you want it to start, and then disable show whenever you want it to stop. That way you only have to set the timing once. Makes sense to me.

Yes, I can see where that would work, except that I have four different shows designed to run on consecutive nights.

I am getting better at adding a show to run five minutes in the future, grabbing my cup of coffee and running outside.

I really like that the status window shows the exact starting and ending time of the show.

The only problem with that is it will never play any sequence from the Shutdown tab.

Which is why I test/tweak outside.

Oh boy, you can't say enough about testing and tweaking. I have already run two of my four shows and found about a 1/2 dozen things I want to change before opening night.

The visulaizer is very good, but no subsititute for seeing it "live."
