A little more info might be needed...

Does it transmit at all?
Where is the transmitter?
What is the audio source?
What are you using for a power source?

I have the same transmitter and it works.

i am using an i-pod to test it. i set it in my front window and taped the antenna as high as i could on the window. i have it pluged into a power outlet. i live at the end of a circle drive. i pulled my truck into the circle and the station was not comming in good or not at all. i only have two channel options because all the other ones are being used. in the house i works good on the stereo but it has to much of a bass sound. i then took it outside to my front porch and tried it and no go.

thanks in advance for the help.

i am having trouble transmitting out of my drive way with this thing.

That was my experience also. In my opinion it's a piece of doggie-doo. I got a EDM. Works great! It might be a little late to help you this year, but I recommend you check into it for next year. There's quite a few threads here about the product. I've heard from no one who doesn't like it.

I have the same transmitter. It is good for about 200-300 feet, plenty for my use. If it is near fluorescent lights, it will greatly cut down on distant, also try to keep away from adaptors and such.

Mine has worked great. It took some trial and error but here is what you need to do. Do NOT use the earphone jack on the computer. You will get crappy sound and it won't work. You need to get a "Y" splitter, one male end & two female ends. You can get this at Radio Shack. Plug the male end into the speaker outlet (usually green) & the two female ends into your speakers and transmitter. Then get your power from the wall outlet just like you said, not the computer USB port. Now you will need to tweak the volume on the computer to get an good output for the radio. I find I need to have the sound just below the half-way mark. If you have the volume to high, you will get bad sounding music on your radio. Also I added about 12' of wire to the end of the antenna(that is outside the house) and now you can get the station about 1000' away! I hope this works for you. Also, I set my channel that already has a radio station on it and it overpowers it when you get within 800 - 1000' of the display.

I also had one...sent it back and got a refund. Wouldn't even transmit 25' to my car in the driveway.

I think the biggest problem was the selection of frequencies that it had. Most of the ones it had were already being used in the Seattle area.

Bought a Ramsey...not knowing it was a FULL kit!!!! (Thought it was one of those you just soldered the plug on to) LOL

But had fun putting it together and was AMAZED that it actually worked the first time I tried it.

Great range and clarity...plus you can pick any frequency you want.

I heard that it doesn't work well in areas where there are too many stations.
Sounds like you are getting less than 10 feet.

If it was me I would return it and get a different transmitter.

I, too, have the same unit, and wish I had bought something else. I have the problem of having a station on every frequency I can select, although some aren't that local.

Question: do you have any metal in those windows, such as screen frames, aluminum frames around the glass, etc? That could be grounding out your signal. Power lines inside the wall will do the same thing. It doesn't take much to interfere with what little power that thing has.

I was having the same problems until I tried the extended antenna (like 10')...Don't know if the FCC is going to come shut me down but I just used some extra wire I had laying around...give it a try before you trash it.

I had an old antenna for a Stereo Receiver laying around and hooked it up to the end of the Whole House Transmitter. I then set the stereo antenna outside on the roof just outside the window. It worked much better. After a while it did start to pick up interference again but then went away so I am not sure what caused that. It worked pretty good but I think I will get one of the better transmitters after this season so I can work with it and make sure it is ready next year.

I have the Whole House Transmitter. I have used it four years running and have not had any problems with it. I do run it off the power cord, not the computer. Also, I have a 20’ extension cable for the audio that allows me to place the transmitter just under the front eve. The audio for the viewable are is great, and when I drive out of my neighborhood, I can get the signal from 800-1000’ feet away.
