Changing sound level of songs

I have been running some tests on my shows and found some of the songs are quieter than others.

Does anyone know how I could increase the volume of my songs?

I dont need to increase the volume on everything just one or two songs.

Thanks

Google audacity, which is an open source audio editing package. I will often use it and the "normalize" filter against all my music as a starting point. Then I may tweak the soft ones a bit more if necessary.

audiacity is what I use and I love it. If you highlight the entire song then click on the Effect button on top. You can select the Amplify and change the decibel level in which you want to amplify. I usually do it in increments until I get what I want and if you do it to much you can lower it with a negative number.

There is a tutorial on this software here.

Are you using WAV of MP3?

Technically, normalization is only for WAV yet some products will use that term for MP3. Not a big deal.

MP3 gain is a great program to adjust MP3 files. This program does not change the original file, can work in batch, and is free. Just select Add Folder. Default target normal volume is 89. I have mine set to 91. Click Track Gain. There is no reason to click Track Analysis as this process is performed in the Track Gain. This is the program I and many other DJ's use.

I am not sure of a program for WAV files that work in batch. Running them through audacity like others have posted will work just fine.
