North pole donation box

Just finished with one of my projects for my first ever light-o-rama christmas display. The pic doesn't do it justice. The globe is filled with 50 mult-color led christmas lights and the donation box is a locked key box. Not much left now to do until Thanksgiving weekend except a little programming. I can't wait to put it all together.

very cute. A lot nicer looking than my wood post. I think you have inspired me to paint my post.

FYI, I don't know how tall you are so I can judge how high the donation box is from the ground. It looks a little high. In our experience, we see that the adults usually send their little kids to put money in the box, so make sure it isn't too high for them to reach the top. I lowered mine to about the 4 foot level a couple years ago because kids were struggling to reach it at 5 feet... thus dropping money all over the ground.

Like the pole, nice job. Why wait...start hanging lights, long term forecast=bad weather

Here are some more pics. I think I am also going to add a cable that will be connected to the box, run it through the pvc and out the bottom so I can attach it to a nearby tree.

I agree with cenote...don't wait, to dec-o-rate!!!

If you have some nice weather this weekend...start hanging!!!

Remember...Murphys Law even applies to those who want to spread "light and happiness" throughout the land. lol

I would start, but 1) I only have @ 6000 lights in a small townhouse 2) I live in Hawaii so weather isn't really an issue (mostly sunny and 85 yr round) :)

Some people shouldn't be allowed to talk about the weather, if you are that bored, come on over to the east coast, where I know of at least 12 of us that could use your help in our "sunny 50" weather

Here is our new sign. We added a donation box this year. It is bolted through the wood on the top of the sign. I also have a camera pointing right at it at all times.

Looks good....I have to add a sign to mine. I was going to have a camera, but wasn't able to work it in the budget this year.
