Dan Lott
So the standard rule of 3 end to end mini lights i under stand but how many can i plug in piggy back on the plug.
Denny
Depends upon the amperage of the circuit and/or rating of any extension cords that you have the lights plugged into.

Unless you bought the energy-saving Target or Phillips incandescent mini lights last year. Those can connect up to eight 100 ct sets end-to-end. Dan Lott
well i have 10 100ct mini strands that i need on one channel. They are .24 amps per string. times 10 that is 2.4 amps on that one channel. I am runnning that controller as a 40 amp controller so 20 amp per side wich means i have 17.6 amps left on that side of the controller. But pluging 10 plugs piggy back just does not seem like the best idea i have had. But on paper it works out. Am i being to safe. They are the target ones that is why .24 not .

cmoore60
The UL spec states 3 strings end to end. Technically as long as the power source can support the load. Stacking is unlimited.Next season the rule of 3 basically gets updated. The end to end rating will be based on wattage. As many strings end to end up to X wattage. I believe this change was made to accomodate the newer lighting technologies (LED).I presently have 15 strings of LED connected end to end. Yes to be to the current UL standards I am in violation. But by the new standards I am way under.Chuck
Dan Lott
Thats good to know but just seing 10 plugs on top of each other just scares me. And the way i need them going i cant put them end to end.

Cray Augsburg
As far as non-scientific testing goes, I stack nine 100 ct mini strings, and haven't had a problem. Hardest part is keeping the stack from coming apart (a little judicious use of electrician's tape goes a long way here).Cray
