Did a test of the display...No blown fuses...no tripped breakers...all the neighbors lights stayed on... everything worked !

What a relief.

Tested mine tonight, hated, and I MEAN HATED my blue c-7s. 1/2 of them are faded and cracked after only one season. Thinking about tearing them all off, hoping I hit the lottery and can afford to buy blue LED's

I tested parts of mine tonight, Just the new elements I've made and adding this year.
I'm not setting up until the weekend before Thanksgiving.

I can't believe how many folks are testing already. I probably won't be to that stage for another 2 weeks... I'm happy with the progress I made in the past 2 days though (didn't have a single light up as of yesterday AM) Here's to successful test runs, whenever you do them!

Don't let me "Scare" anybody, I only am doing the house lights, and wrapping trees till Black Friday. I am trying to get everything on house to I don't have to walk on cold shingles. I have over 15,000 to 20,000 lights that will be going out on that friday. Including mege tree, wire frames, arches, etc...

I have not started yet. I plan to move everthing from storage to garage and start to pre-stage. I have a couple of large trees that are really hanging on to their leaves and I want to give them a chance to cooperate.

I pulled everything out of storage into what used to be my shop (Now a daycare center). My wifed looked at me and told me this had to be all out of the daycare and cleaned up by this afternoon.

It never ceases to amaze me how much stuff can come out of such a small area. Problem is it keeps growing each year. I will be luck to get my lights fully operational by Thanksgiving. I will have some but there are too many new elements that I have program and wire first.

I guess that is what we do for fun? Right?

CONGRATULATIONS, Jon!

Now then, I surely hope you haven't invoked the wrath of the xmas light gods by saying it out loud! :P

I had to laugh... I said "Boy hon... things have gone pretty smooth so far this year..." and I got daggers thrown my way. She made me knock on wood and then said "Good luck with that...". :D

wired up 16 channels out of 32 and all working so far...
I am giving myself a week 16th to 23rd to programme all the CCR leaping arches I have made. 3 ribbons giving 15 arches!

Good luck to all!

Jeffrey:

I work in surgery, and the last thing anyone in the OR wants to hear (besides "OOPS!") is "well this case oughta be a snap." It never fails . . . :?

  • 2 weeks later...

Being my first year. I have started putting out some of the elements of my display. Well I just had to test some of those elements. One thing that became clear is that two of my porch post are wrapped in LEDs. One is red and one is green. Even though both are programmed the same within LOR seq. editor. When I run the seq. via editor, it appears that I am doing something different with one of the channels. After watching it a few times (ya I am slow). I think what is really happening is that the green has more pop than the red so it hits a given intensity and that makes it appear to be on at a different time than the red LEDs. So, in a few nights I am going to reprogram a section of the seq. and lower the green LEDs intensity to a lower value and hope that the green and red LEDs balance so that they appear to be working in unison.

I hope that was not to muddy.

What better reason to switch to LED's - even if you only switch your blues...

Got the neighbor's yard all installed and tested. Now that the roofers have cleared out of our yard I'm thinking I'll be ready for testing on Saturday night.
