stachows
I have reset it as explained in the manual using the select button, but that has not worked. My IDMX is not functionting. I get a steady light when connected, but it is not recognized by the hardware utility. It was working fine at address E0 (for testing), but then I went to set it to a different address for my show it said it was successfull, but then stopped responding. Now I get nothing but a steady light. I have rebooted the PC, reset the IDMX, everything I can think of, but I still cannot get it to be recognized anymore by the hardarew utility. Is there a way to do a HARD reset back to all the factory defaults or something along those lines? I was running the latest version of the firmware. This is a show stopper for me...Thanks in advance for any help...Scott.

As per the instructions, you power it off, press and hold the blue button then power it on.In the Hardware Utility, have you tried updating the Unit ID?Set "Old Unit ID" to "Any" and the "New Unit ID" to a value "x0" like '10' or '20' or '30'.... Then click the "Change Unit ID" button.Dan
stachows
Hi Dan..THANK YOU!!!!!Using ANY and Setting it to 20 worked...FYI...setting it to 21 is what made it so I could not see it in the Hardware utility.I though it would just show up as one ID per the manual, but I must have missed somthing...Thanks again...Scott. LightORamaDan
The manual says it can be 21 but then it would only be 16 channels BUT that does not seem to work! I have hear this before more than once but then forgot to make a note of it and forgot about it. Sound like a bug and we will fix it. I just sent myself an email so I will not forget again. (getting old sucks... the need to write yourself a note so that you do not forget tomorrow what you know today just sucks)...Sorry about thatDan
stachows
No Problem Dan...I completely understand. Thanks again..On a side note,I have a question on Extended circuit ID's and DMX.I can control lights it using extended circuit ID's in the Hardware utilities console. ie... Set Channel Mode to Extended Circuit ID's, Set Unit ID to 20, and then side over to the next group (17-32). From here I can control my light that is assigned to DMX address 22 with no problems. But,when trying that in a sequence, it does not work, I have to change the unit ID to 21, and the Circuit ID to 6 to have the Channel 1 of the light work...I was hopeing to be able to use extended circuit ID's in the sequences for DMX like we can now with the CCR.Nothing major, just something I noticed...Thansk Again..Scott. cmoore60
Stachows,With one of the releases recently ( I think 2.5.2 and up, but don't hold me to the number) you can define a controller with more channels than 16. I wonder if you could define the IDMX like this in your sequence.Just a thought.Chuck
stachows
Hi Chuck,That is what I am reffering to... It came out in 2.5.0 (Beta) and then widely available in 2.5.2It lets you use them in the Harware utility with the IDMX1000, but when you assign extended circuit ID's(above 16) in a sequence nothing happens. It works fine for the CCR, but not for the IDMX1000.N0t a big deal at all, but it would be nice.Thanks,Scott. -klb-
As I understand it, the extended channel numbers do not work with the iDMX under the current firmware. It has been speculated that a future firmware release might handle it, but I have not seen any confirmation from LOR.
stachows
Thank you Kevin!I will wait for that update... I just thought that I found it funny that it works from the Hardware utility, but not the Sequencer.Either way... My show will go on!!!
