George Cotton Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I have a Halloween sequence running on my DIY 16 channel LOR kit and DC-MP3 as a single, constant run show. I used the Simple Show Builder to move the sequence to an SD card for the DC-MP3. I then used the Hardware Utility to verify the on board clock was set correctly.1) I noticed that the Simple Show Builder creates two (apparently identical) sets of files. One set of files starts with S1 and the other set starts with S2. Why? What is the difference? This doubles the space used and time to export to card.2) When the scheduled show's end time is reached, the sequence finishes and then stops as expected. A this point the DC-MP3 LED's are: Green is steady on and the Yellow does the double-flash which are correct, but I also get a steady Red. After I eject the SD card and reinsert it, the Red LED goes out and all is good. What's up with this?Overall, the DIY kit construction was very straight forward and when finished, it worked totally as expected. Added the DC-MP3 over the summer so I would not have to use a PC all the time. Running the latest S2 software (v2.5.2 Advanced). Basic setup for Halloween is just over 1,000 LED's, a few scattered incandescent lamps and a couple of strobes. After Christmas, I'll probably order another DIY kit and be up to a whopping 32 channels for next season. Ok, just 32 for you guys with a couple hundred channels, tens of thousands of lights and much more free time than me.
LightORamaDan Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Hi,The reason that there are two shows on the SD card is that in most cases there are two schedules present to run things at different times on different days. I looks like it always writes two shows even when only one is necessary. In that case, one of the shows never runs but does end up taking space and time to write. We will optomize that in the future. Not sure why the red led comes on.. will have someone look into it.Dan
George Cotton Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 Update on the Red LED.Since I've added a 2nd controller, the Red LED has not come back on after all shows finish at 11:00pm, just the normal Green and double flash of the Yellow. Both controllers are DIY CTB16DV6 with 4.32, DC-MP3 has 3.3 and 2.6.0 for PC software.
George Cotton Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Another update:After several days of no Red LED in the morning, it's returned once again for the last 2 days. I know it has no effect (that I'm aware of), but it is most interesting that it's random. Apparently, it has no obvious cause/effect with the addition of a 2nd controller as described above.
