toddm1919
I have a very simple show that runs my halloween lights. The only sequence in the show is a 2 second sequence that I run in the background. Most of the lights are spots running at about 50% steady on. There are a few c9's for pumpkin eyes and mouth that very in intensity during the sequence to make it look like a candle flickering. Everything was running fine until tonight.Tonight the lights will be on, then after about 8 seconds they go off and right back on. This only happens when I am running the show. I first I thought it may be a communications issue, but I found that if I run the sequence in the sequence editor with the loop at end option, everything works as it should.Any ideas on what the problem could be? Guest wbottomley
You probably need to upgrade to 2.4.10: http://lightorama.mywowbb.com/view_topic.php?id=19818&forum_id=55&jump_to=181207#p181207Make sure no LOR programs are running including the light bulb in the tray. toddm1919
I ran the same show this morning with no issues. Last night I got home late, so I turned the computer on after a show was scheduled to start. This morning I was able to turn it on before it was scheduled to start.I have enabled shows after the scheduled time before without any issues. Could this cause the described problem?Mountainwxman, thanks for your replies. I will upgrade the software, but I just don't get why that should make a difference if it was working with this version. toddm1919
OK, so its Saturday night and it happened again. This time I found the source. The show I run is scheduled from 6:05pm to 1:00am. This works fine for all other nights but Saturday. It seems the scheduler has a problem from Saturday night to Sunday morning.I changed my schedule to end the show at 11:59:59 and the program worked as it should. I changed it to end a 12:00:00 and it "blinked" every 8 seconds. I am still running 2.3.8. I was looking at the list of bug fixes for the newest version, but could not find it listed. Does anyone know if this has been addressed?
cmoore60
The crossing from Saturday night to Sunday morning makes some sense. If you look at the schedule editor it starts on Sunday. This very well may be the reason it works this way.Good tidbit to keep in mind.Chuck
Gary Levelius
Just a note on this problem I'd reported this elsewhere on the forums, but will repeat it here. I had my show scheduled to run from 12:00 midnight to 12 midnight for testing (so I could start it at any time) and found that it would only play a portion of the "starup" sequence, stop in the middle of it and then restart. Changing the ending time to 11:59:59pm (leaving the start at midnight) and it ran flawlessly. I wonder if the two could be related?-Gary-
rwertz
To computer programs the day starts at 12:00:00 AM and ends at 11:59:59 PM. I'm familiar with this because most of our test systems at work post data into databases 24/7.So setting the end time to 12:00:00 AM would be ending the show before it started. Maybe LOR could add a check for this in the schedule editor.
Gary Levelius
Thing is, what happened to me just started with the current release of the software Wourked just fine in 2.4.10. Musta been a logic change that cause it to do what it's doing (which I understand entirely). No biggie, just something interesting I noticed.-Gary-
