No Tracks in Channel Error

Had just completed extensive revision to a DL sequence, including deleting two unneeded tracks, and shortening the run time to match the length of the audio, when the sequence editor locked up then crashed. I closed the editor (actually it closed itself) and tried to reopen, but now get error that says "No tracks in Channel." If I click OK, the entire sequence appears blank. However, the properties show it to still be over 3 MB in size so there must be something in the sequence. There is no BAK file, because it didn't save on exit. I have several hours of editing in this sequence, is there any way of recovering it?

Thanks to the quick response and fine work of Bob at LOR tech support my bacon was hauled out of the fire and I was saved hours of work.

It all surrounded my attempts to delete unneeded tracks from a downloaded sequence. I won't even attempt to explain what happened, but if Bob wants to weigh in here to explain I will be happy to give him the floor.
