dumbname99
In previous versions, when you tried to play an MP3 at 1/4 speed, it would ask you a question, then convert the MP3 to a .WAV file with the name SequenceOnly in the title. That seems to no longer work, so I can't play at 1/4 speed. Is this by design and I am missing something or is this a bug? This was a great feature to have this built in without having to convert with an external program...
Greg Doughty
What I noticed on my computer is that Windows media player (wmp) is not playing nice with the decreased speed. My computer asked my if I wanted to convert the song so I can play 1/2 speed. I took a risk and did, and I found out the conversion is temporary. Perhaps there is a codec that needs to be added to LOR so it can "talk" to wmp.Someone else I am sure will pop up here and help here
bob
This depends upon Windows Media Player, and upon the song file in question. LOR is telling WMP to play at 1/4 speed, and WMP is saying "OK", but for some song files, WMP just doesn't actually play them at the requested speed. This has always been an issue, and I'm not sure that there's anything we can actually do about it, unfortunately. You might want to try running the song through an audio editor (such as Audacity) in several ways, to see if any of them get WMP to behave how you want. For example, try it with different sampling rates, try it as a WAV, as an MP3, as a WMA....
bob
Oh, and just to be clear, the reason why LOR would or would not offer to create the "SequenceOnly" file for you is because it's asking WMP "Can you control the play speed for this song?", and WMP is responding "yes" or "no". If WMP says "yes", LOR doesn't create the SequenceOnly file.Perhaps a new version of WMP is being used?
Greg Doughty
That certainly can be the issue as I have edited all of my music in audacity to 2 minutes or less and then exported as a .wav for use in LORThanks
dumbname99
Yup, I had version 11. I downgraded to 9, then back to 10. Downgrades from MS never seem to go well, but at least i'm semi functional, until I rebuild my OS to have an older version... Thanks for the explanation. Robin
I don't know how you guys o 1/4 to begin with. I cannot make heads or tails of the music or beats it is so slow.At first, years ago I just thought it would slow it down to to 3/4 speed taking 1/4 off but quickly found I was wrong. I would however like to see that option as I think it would make life much easier.
