Guest guest
I have 6, 16 channel LOR boards with heat sinks on order from Light-O-Rama. I will have to install an additional panel in my garage to handle the power that they will need. My BIG question is do I put the boards in my garage near my panel or do I mount them outside near the displays? If mounted outside, obviously I will put them in a weather tight cabinet. My concern is running up to 96 extension cords out through my garage or running 12 Heavy cords to the boards and power everything form out side near my display. One other factor, I live on 1 ¼ acre, so my yard is much larger and will have longer power runs, as apposed someone that lives on a postage stamp lot. I have been running light for the last 6 or 7 years but no controllers until this year. Thanks Mark Fort Worth, Texas
Guest guest
Mark: I think you answered your own question. I would run the 12 cords to the boards outside. You will find that it requires less cords this way. Saving $$$$$

Guest guest
Don, thanks for the welcome! The Mini sounds great, is there a date and location, I see it is in September in the San Antonio area. I also see there will be a mini in Shreveport on August 12th; I am going to try and make that one also.So what is you opinion on board/controller location? Guest guest
I put mine outside last year. Don't see a reason to change it. Worked very well.
Guest guest
Not sure how long you power runs could be, but keep in mind that you will have some voltage drop if these are 100+ feet runs. I would not go below 12 awg wire if you could pull 15 amps on a line. There are tables that would give you a guide depending on your lengths and power requirements. Something to keep in mind when programing.Look forward to seeing you in September. Not sure if the date was set, but we were looking at the weekend of the 9/16 or 9/23. This is only 3 months away! Time sure flies.Chris
Guest guest
Chris, Jeff Womack e-mailed me about the Mini Plus in San Antonio, they are looking at September 23-24. Are you aware that there is a Mini in Shreveport August 12th.RegardThanksMark
Guest guest
I know about it, but I only have so much time available. The mini in San Antonio will be Saturday and Sunday so we should have plenty of time to discuss a little of everything. Try and make both if you can, but schedules can get busy.Chris
