rangerrick
Last year was my first year decorating, and I animated my display to the Baltimore area Christmas song called "Crabs for Christmas". It's a Baltimore thing to decorate with crabs, and I collected for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. You can see a video of the display at http://www.planetcrab.com/crabs_encounter_video.htm.Anyway, I decided to improve on what I did last year, and I am looking for suggestions. I would like to get a big crab to put on the garage top. I did this last year with just lights, however, I was thinking a big inflatable or something else would be better. I looked at how much a big crab inflatable would cost, but they were all way beyone my budget limit. Any suggestions on what to put on the garage???From the video you can see that I used inflatable "actors" (Santa, policeman, singer, etc.). I used LED spotlights to light them up. However, I wasn't overly pleased with the result. Any suggestions on how to do this better???Any other critique of the display would be very much appreciated. Thanks! Linda
You could make one out of plywood then outline it with rope lights and either use rope, mini, c7 or c9 for the features, or you could make one out of nylon or parachute type material, stuff it with plastic and use spotlights on it. Just a couple of quick thoughts off the top of my head. I did a search for crabs (for pattern ideas) and it brought up some really cute images.
