Figured out 'song does not stop playing' in sequencer bug

Now and then I'd stumble across a bug where the sequencer has reached the end of a song, yet it is still stuck in play mode. (And there may or may not be some random twinkling of the lights involved while it sits there.) It would stay like that until I manually hit [sTOP].

I don't know if anyone else came across the workaround for this, but the problem is that the sequence is just slightly shorter than the music. I don't know if it computed the length incorrect on import, or this was a function of my switching over from MP3s to WAVs for my audio.

But in any case, usually going [EDIT] -> [Change Total Time] and reducing it by .5 seconds will do the trick and make a song stop at the end in the sequencer.

Yes,

That problem has been around forever. It will be fixed in a future release. If it is not in the known bugs list in the wiki then it should be added by someone.

Great Idea! Bob Moody has been working on a list of bugs and known work arounds. If others want to contact him via PM and offer help in compiling said list, he would be most appreciated.

I plan on adding a section dedicated to bugs and work arounds in the near future.

I made a suggestion on 05/20 for a known bugs list on the LOR Wiki. Did it already exist, or does it exist now?

Bob has been working on the list with Dan.

We (the three of us) didn't want a list of bugs out there that had no work arounds. Nor did we want the first version of the list be one or two items. Obviously, the three of us have busy schedules, and things haven't moved forward as fast I would have wanted.

Perhaps I can just make the main section, and leave it open for others to start populating it with content.

Not to hijack a thread ... but comments anyone?

We really need to stop doing the same thread at the same time! :]

Hijack is fine, it is a worthwhile topic. Myself, I'll feed info to whoever, whatever way works best for you.

EDIT: Here are some items to get you started.

1. SEQUENCER: I remember some bug about a song length being too long causing problems? Like 7 minutes or something?

2. Minor glitches on LED strings. (Needs resistor or bulbs added to function 100% perfectly.) http://planetchristmas.mywowbb.com/forum25/4816.html http://planetchristmas.mywowbb.com/forum25/4937.html

3. SEQUENCER: Audio speed problems at any speed other than normal while playing a sequence in sequencer. Workaround: Convert MP3 audio to .WAV format.
http://planetchristmas.mywowbb.com/forum25/4914.html

4. SEQUENCER: Fade-up or fade-down gets confused if you change your event timing. (Read that in a recent thread, no other details.) Ah, referenced by Don:
http://planetchristmas.mywowbb.com/forum25/5255.html#p49707

5. SEQUENCER: Strange after-effects (on screen) when fades are represented as gradients and not steps. Workaround: use steps

6. Shimmer effect is not compatible with LEDs. (Shimmer becomes strobe.) Workaround: Manually implement your own shimmer effect, and enjoy the special new strobe feature! :)

7. SEQUENCER: Momentary jump-ahead in time as you edit a sequence. [i don't adjust timings, and I see this problem just filling in events.]

8. HARDWARE UTIL: Cannot access the X10 tab. Workaround: you must set a com port for a LOR before you can access the X10 tab. http://planetchristmas.mywowbb.com/forum25/2361.html

Jm: Good work.

All: I had time tonight to create the Known Bugs section, and fill it with some general guidelines. I don't have time tonight to start working on it. If you have a moment, feel free to log in and work on that section.
