Dale W
Have I got some great news to share with you!I have found a great hotel that is in the heart of the French Quarter for under $100 (as compared to $139/$149 for those dates) a night on one of the best weekends to be in New Orleans. Our meeting will be the weekend of Memorial Day in 2009. The cost per person will be dirt cheap (free on Saturday and only $10 on Friday night to cover the costs of the setups and hospitality). A restaurant is on premises and meals will be on your ownThe Hospitality costs will include set-ups in our hospitality room (bring your own favorite beverage), snacks, etc...Our hotel will be the:Holiday Inn - Chateau LeMoyne French Quarter301 Rue DauphineNew Orleans, LA 70112http://www.hiclneworleanshotelsite.com/I really love this hotel for many reasons but the best is that there are several courtyards that we will have at our call for use to hang out, socialize, and discuss Decoration techniques. The classroom is big enough to handle a group as large as ours, and the proximity to area attractions is a huge plus.Ride a street car or the riverboat to the Audubon Zoo – 3 MI / 4.83 KMWalk to Bourbon Street/French Quarter – 0 MI / 0 KMCanal Street/Streetcar – 0 MI / 0 KMHarrah’s Casino – 0.5 MI / 0.8 KMHorse-drawn carriage rides – 0 MI / 0 KMJackson Square/Café Dumonde – 0.3 MI / 0.48 KMLouisiana Superdome in New Orleans – 1 MI / 1.61 KMMississippi River/Riverboats – 0.01 MI / 0.02 KMNational D-Day Museum New Orleans – 1 MI / 1.61 KMNew Orleans Fair Grounds/Thoroughbred Horse Racing – 5 MI / 8.05 KMNew Orleans French Market/Riverwalk – 0.2 MI / 0.32 KMThis meeting will be like no other you have ever attended!PM me for details or see the attached registration form. Dale W
Times: Social on Friday night -- from whatever time you get there to whatever time the last person goes to bed. I plan on having a hospitality room open until about 1 am for people to congregate. The hotel has an abundance of patio space that can be used to hang out and discuss Christmas decoration techniques. On Saturday, our meeting will start about 8 am or so and last until 5 pm or so. Then there will be after the meeting discussions of Christmas decoration techniques in the meeting room and on the patios until we get too tired. Dale W
For saturday's meeting, there is no cost. For Friday night hospitality, there is a $10 per person charge. It will include set ups, limited snacks, etc.I have the blank there to include the number of people.I have revised the form to clarify some of the questions, if you have already downloaded the one above - please review the new form and make sure you understand what the revisions mean.
