EARLE W. TALLEY
I am one of the newbies and just trying to get all info before I buy my LOR system. Can anyone tell me what is the recommended external power supply for the mdm-mpe miniDirector and where I can get one.
Paul Roberson
The mini director can be powered by the controller thru the cat5 cable, provided it is less that 50' of cable.I used one this year that way in my sons school room. The show was started and stopped my turning the pwr on or off to the controller.
-klb-
Read the cautions and notes around page 10...http://www.lightorama.com/Documents/mDM-MP3_Man_Web.pdfThen on page 31, it is listed as 9VDC, 50 milliamps, but a larger mA rating is acceptable...Here is one overpriced option from Radio Shack:http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2194430Slightly cheaper:http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2552558You can probably find cheaper solutions locally, and you will seldom see one that won't put out at least 50mA..
