monkey141
This is my very first post and I am totally new to light animation and sequencing and I am starting early to get ready for next year. For the last two years I have used a GE controller with 6 channels that comes pre-programmed, just plug everything in and away you go. I want to get more involved and have more control so I am looking to invest in the LOR stuff. The problem I have now is I can't seem to tell the difference between the planet christmas controller on the LOR web store and the LOR controllers the LOR web store. For a while I thought there were no differences, but I am starting to get the drift that there are differences.Any thoughts, ideas would be great! Thanks in advance!Mike
Liteitupman
The controllers on the LOR website are the way to go! Feel free to email them a question, they have the best customer service. I received a reply just a couple hours later.Hope I could help.
iresq
The controllers come in 3 basic flavors.Showtime products: Completely assembled. Nice metal case. Power switch. UL approved. 30 amp capacity. Can run stand alone.PC Products: From complete assembly required (including soldering the components to the board) to some assembly required, to fully assembled. 30 amp capacity. Can not run stand alone.K boards - showtime boards that you assemble. 30 amp.D boards - can operate independently, rated at 40 amp. You assemble.Showtime products are the most expensive.D boards are great for the enthusiast that builds/has their own enclosures.PC are the 'budget' controllers. But make no mistake, they perform the exact same functions (except standing alone) as the D boards and Showtime products. The PC boards came out last year. There are probably more D boards in use but got to imagine the PC boards are quickly catching up.
