Cdshakes Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I built a computer up last year specifically for LOR shows. It's not that fast, but ran it fine--win xp. Didn't do anything to the computer since last year, except upgrade the LOR software to the LOR II version. Everything went fine-- i added another 1602pc this year, so 48 channels total. Everything was running fine until sat, the show started, and the music output was going to my fm transmitter, and i have one x10 channel for my sign and those lights were on, but no LOR channels running the show. I rebooted the computer and it came on ok. Then last nite i checked at the time they were supposed to start, same problem again. This time I just right clicked on the bulb in by the clock and tried "disable shows" and suddenly they started! In the status, it said enabled both times, and showed the correct show, and start/end time...etc. I don't understand what is happening here?Colin
bob Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 It's possible that the show is playing, but it has some sort of problem with each of the sequences in it (with the possible exception of your X10 sequences). What version are you running? If it is 2.0.16, there's a bug that may be the cause of your problem:If a sequence has a channel set up as device type "Light-O-Rama controller", but does not have a unit ID set, then the sequence will play fine in the Sequence Editor, but not in the Show Player. So, if you're running 2.0.16, I would suggest checking your sequences for such channels. If you have any that are that way, then you can get around the problem in any of three ways:(1) Change all such channels' device types to "none" (rather than "Light-O-Rama controller"). Or:(2) Change all such channels so that they have a unit ID. Or:(3) Upgrade to the latest version of the software, which does not have this bug.If you're not running 2.0.16, or if you are but you're totally confident that the above is not the cause of the problem you're having, then:Do the sequences play correctly in the Sequence Editor? Are you sure that those sequences are in your show? Are you sure that that show is the one that is scheduled?
Cdshakes Posted December 15, 2008 Author Posted December 15, 2008 i just double checked the sequences, and yes i do have a few extra channels at the bottom, but they are already set to none.It is 2.01.16.Everything was running fine for a week or two... friday night the show ran fine... it was sat that it first didn't work correctly. It does play fine in the sequence editor.I had replaced the sequence files a few times (same names, just updated after i saw how it looked (fixed some mistakes).... but literally didn't even go into the room the computer is in at least thurs and fri... and those days it ran fine... that's what's so baffling!Colin
bob Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 If you're sure that there are no channels like I described in any of your sequences, please send me your sequences and show file, and I will take a look at them.
LightORamaDan Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I would have said that this was a strong candiidate for a USB hang until I saw that you disabled and enabled shows (or something along those lines) and things started working.Does the music go from song to song to song with the lights not being controlled.ThanksDanLight O Rama, Inc.
Cdshakes Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 yes, when i bought my first LOR controller 2 years ago, i got the package with the usb adapter that you sold.
