jtindale Posted Wednesday at 11:18 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:18 PM (edited) Hello, I have a pretty long roofline where I split up the wiring from a Pixie4 on the left side of the house and a Pixie8 on the right side, both are new this year, latest firmware. The long runs are connected to 1 port on each side of the house (Pixie4 and Pixie8) and are 163 pixels, about 30' in length. The power side is close to the Pixie and I have about 6' of extension code connected. Using the HU I can light up all 163 pixels all 3 colors and white. I get no visible drop in intensity or color. I even tested in on the bench with a test sequence and all was working well. I have since installed it on my roof, 30' up in the air and for some reasons the ends will not light up, both sides/both controllers. Again, all works well in the HU. My sequences will NOT work, for some reason only about 150 pixels light up (I'm just guessing that amount). My preview is setup with 163 pixels, each on its own pixie controller and port. The circuit is set to 510 pixels. While bench testing, I saw no significant drop in voltage on the end of the run. I thought with multiple strings plugged into the controller it could be causing a voltage drop, so today I injected power into the ends of the run, but that didn't help at all. Again, with being able to turn on white along all 163 pixels, it doesn't appear to be power. Any ideas what could be wrong? Edited Wednesday at 11:21 PM by jtindale typo
k6ccc Posted Wednesday at 11:33 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:33 PM I don't use Pixie controllers, but there is a max number of pixels setting somewhere in the Pixie setup. Make sure that is long enough. If this description does not help, hopefully someone who uses Pixie controllers can explain it better.
jtindale Posted Wednesday at 11:49 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:49 PM Thank you. I have both controllers set to 170 pixels. The HU can light up all 163. Just the sequence can’t.

Then I can turn the additional ones on one by one and walk up to 163, which is at my peak on both sides. I think this also confirm the ports are not reversed. I didn’t have to do any crazy wiring to connect up to the pixie port.
jtindale Posted Thursday at 01:57 AM Author Posted Thursday at 01:57 AM To add some more details to this, I'm going to attach some pictures of my test. Here is the HU showing all pixels can light up. Here is my sequence playing at a couple of points in time: Here is the prop definition for the pixel string at the top right apex in the images above:
