lights_in_fl Posted November 27 Posted November 27 (edited) Hi all, I know this is a common issue that new folks run into, but this is making me scratch my head. I had LOR with a pro license and everything worked great on my laptop. I just upgraded laptops and installed LOR on my new machine (Windows 11). I transferred all my sequences over. My bigger show has a mix of pixie and dumb RGB controllers, but to try to isolate this problem, I am only currently plugging in one dumb RGB controller box and only have one dumb RGB light strand plugged into the first channel. Using the Control Panel, I can connect to my (single dumb) decoration just fine. I can also play a show in the Control Panel, and my decoration responds as expected, confirming that I have the correct unit ID for that decoration in my sequence. However, when I try to run this same sequence in the Sequencer, I cannot get the decoration to turn on. I do see my Regular 500k LOR controller in the Control Lights panel, this is checked and of course “Control Lights” is checked as well. Any ideas? I can’t think of why the decoration would be responsive in the Hardware Utility, Control Panel, and when playing a show, but not in the sequencer. Thanks! Edited November 27 by lights_in_fl
dgrant Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Check your preview. In there, you need to insure that each prop has its network identified properly. I don't have the software on this laptop I'm on this moment to refer to exact word usage but to give context, the hardware utility in the control panel is great in that it sends commands out to the controller as a whole for the most part. The preview determines which network you have assigned to which prop. You need to make sure that the network, channel and etc are correct. There's more to it than just that but that's a start.
lights_in_fl Posted November 28 Author Posted November 28 Thanks for the response! After rebooting my machine a couple of times, the sequencer now controls the lights. Not sure if this was a driver issue or something else, but just needed a restart. Thanks!
Steven Posted December 1 Posted December 1 In S6, the Control Panel must be running to control the lights. The Sequencer won't control lights on its own without the Control Panel. It's possible that the Control Panel had been closed when the sequence was played with the Sequencer.
