MSB Posted Wednesday at 02:37 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:37 AM I have a 45 min show with 17 background sequences and 5 animation sequences (playing sequentially, and 15 musical sequences. There is a start-up musical sequence. when show show ends, There are several random props that remain on. How can I ensure all lights are off without shutting down the control panel and restarting it? It's annoying the neighbors.
k6ccc Posted Wednesday at 02:45 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:45 AM Assuming it's ALWAYS the same props that are on, that is almost always because those lights are still on at the end of the last sequence and you do NOT have the checkbox set to turn off all lights at the end of the sequence or show. Make sure any lights are actually off at the end of the last sequence (except maybe lights you really want to leave on).
Orville Posted Wednesday at 07:09 AM Posted Wednesday at 07:09 AM I have a sequence that has every controller in use in my display. This sequence has NO LIGHTING COMMANDS, IS 1 MINUTE LONG, and runs after the last sequence runs in my show, say main show end time is 10:00pm, then I create a show starting at 10:00pm and ends at 10:01pm, using the ALL-LIGHTS-OFF sequence. This makes sure EVERY LIGHT IN MY DISPLAY IS OFF at the end of the show. Been using this method for 14 years. Never any lights left on and no annoying the neighbors. I also have the ALL LIGHTS OFF at end of sequence checked, but THE ALL-LIGHTS-OFF sequence is just an added safety measure to be 100% sure my lights are ALL OFF.
MSB Posted Thursday at 04:51 AM Author Posted Thursday at 04:51 AM (edited) Thanks for the feedback! The show premiers Friday. I ran a test tonight with a 30 second musical sequence in a shutdown show that starts when the show ends for 1 minute. No animations and no background sequences. The musical sequence only had audio and uses the same preview as all musical sequences during the show with nothing turned on. That worked! Thank you!! FYI, the problem I had with props staying on were only on the enhanced networks running at 500k Edited Thursday at 04:58 AM by MSB added clarification

FYI, the problem I had with props staying on were only on the enhanced networks running at 500k I usually just use a simple animation sequence. It has no lighting commands, no audio, just a list of controllers in a 1 minute animation with nothing in it, not even audio so there isn't any sounds playing when the ALL-LIGHTS-OFF sequence is utilized. No stray sounds to annoy my neighbors when lights out time arrives.😉
dgrant Posted Thursday at 04:42 PM Posted Thursday at 04:42 PM I think the cause is usually the last sequence that's played, there's commands that are still on. I try to insure I'm carefully turning off everything, except my radio tune too sign and a few other things then at the end of the show, I run a blank sequence that has all controllers, all channels, with nothing turned on. Same as the others above here have said...this insures all the lights are off. I incorporate this last sequence into the show so its automatically done for me.
