Turning on all lights on CTB16

Hey Everyone,

Just getting set up for the first time/year. We are setting up our 'dumb' lights via the CTB16PCg3, and they are a little too intense in the place we are putting them, however I've already installed all the lights through the controller. We want to stop the turning on and off effect and just have them continuingly on.

My question is this: Can I just by pass the board and have them on all the time? I know this makes it the most expensive light switch, but it will cost me time to unhook everything.

Thanks in advance,

Did you buy a 'Director' with your controller or are you running Showtime on your PC.

The CTB does not normally have a 'default show', which is why I ask. (it does have the ability to have a simple stand alone sequence. But that would need to be loaded and enabled by you)

BTW Your forum profile does not show what version. You can use the Hardware Utility (HU), (part of Showtime) simply to set the maximum brightness of the controller. (many of the screens shown in the manual are for the older S4 version of showtime, but there will be a place that has those settings in the newer versions of HU

No, you can't just "bypass" the board.   It would require a sequence with the lighting commands set to on for each channel you want to stay on.

How would you run the show?   Via Computer or an MP3 Director unit?

Each one is set up a bit differently, so knowing how you would run your show and whether computer or Director would help us to better help you.

But essentially, if you want to bypass the Controller, you'd be better off just unplugging the lights from the controller and plugging them directly into an AC Electrical outlet using extension cords.

Otherwise, you are still going to need some kind of sequence or assorted sequences to turn on and turn off your lights via building a show.    This is not something that is plug and play or you can just bypass the entire controller circuitry.

They don't work like that.

Yeah, just plug them directly into the wall or through a timer. You don't need a controller for that purpose. The controller is to "allow" you to be able to control them on/off/twinkle/shimmer to music or just whatever pattern you wish.
