TallDude Posted November 19 Posted November 19 I opened a ticket, but figured I might get a quicker answer. When creating a new SD card show, I selected that my director was a G4 and that it had 4 ports. However it only showed 2 networks (Reg and Aux A). What am I doing wrong that is hiding the other 2 network ports? This is a new device so I assume the firmware is up to date, and my software is running updated as well.

If I recall correctly, the network ports it shows is based on the previews linked to your sequences. So if your props are setup to only use Regular or Aux A, those are the only two that will show up.

Okay, I create sequences for Christmas Daytime Music during off hours, runs from 7AM-5PM 7-days a week through the Holiday season. This sequence uses 1 channel associated with my CTB16PC AC CONTROLLER, so the sequence only has REG Network, and that's the ONLY NETWORK that shows up when writing Show01 the Christmas off hours music. Now if I add sequences and create a new show "Show02" which starts at 5:30PM and if the sequence IS NOT using AUX B or AUX C within the sequence, but only REG and AUX A, then those are the ONLY 2 it will allow you to select. It will IGNORE anything to do with AUX B or AUX C because they ARE NOT DEFINED IN THE ACTUAL SEQUENCE. Now I have an old V1 CTB16PC AC CONTROLLER that supplies power to my N4-G4 MP3 DIRECTOR and it is connected to the REGular Network, 115K, NO ELOR, I have a Pixie 16D Controller connected to AUX A, 1000K, ELOR, I have 2 Pixie 4D Controllers connect to AUX B, 1000K, ELOR and finally I have a Pixie 8D Controller on AUX C, 1000K, ELOR. However, if I did not have the Pixie 4D's or the Pixie 8D defined in the sequences, then they would either not be shown at all or grayed out. Every single controller MUST be defined, otherwise, if they're not, you won't see or be able to set parameters for them when writing the SD Card. THIS IS NOT A FLAW, THIS IS NOT A BUG, it's exactly how the software is designed to work. I hope I explained this well enough, it can be quite confusing at times when you think something is broken, or not working, especially when it's working as designed, but to a newbie it may not seem that way. We've all been there at some point. Any further questions or clarification, just ask.

That makes sense. I just tried it again, and it worked. It was using the same sequence, but maybe I had the wrong preview assigned (opened in the sequencer, all looked fine but I saved it anyway then wrote to the SD card). Ghosts in the machine. All good now, thanks!
