possumhollow Posted November 18 Posted November 18 hooking up my director, have all my pixel controllers working I am using rgbplus sequence disc. How do I get the director to see my traditional 16 channel residential controller. Have it daisy chained as in layout but its not recognizing it. Probably something simple. Thanks Jim
TheDucks Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Director needs power. The common way is port1 gets it from the AC controller (less than 25' of CAT5) Newer Pixies have a Aux power JUMPER (ships in the bag) Next issue: Pixies want FAST (and ELOR mode) Old AC controllers cant do either. Those need to be on a different port (set <=115K and NO ELOR)
possumhollow Posted November 18 Author Posted November 18 Mine has its own power cord, I'll fiddle with it tomorrow. thanks

However, if it is a newer G3, it can do ELOR and a MAXIMUM of 500K. However, depending on your RGB controllers, they may need to be on their own network with a 500K-1000K ELOR setting. I usually always set my Pixies 2, 4, 8, or 16 to the highest speed setting and ELOR. What type Director are you using? An N4-G4 MP3 Director, or a mini Director and how many networks does it or the Director you're using support? Also, is your traditional 16 channel controller using the same ID as another controller? If you somehow got it, and another controller set with the same ID, the Director will only see the ID as a single controller and not different. You'd need to check each controllers ID independently, only 1 controller connected at a time and verify the controller unit ID for each. It could even be a bad cat5 cable causing the issue. Wide variety of causes that can create this issue.
possumhollow Posted November 20 Author Posted November 20 I'm gonna work on it today, thanks for all the ideas, all my controllers are no older than 5 years old. Have a great day, I'll let you know how I fair it is a n4-g4 mp3
possumhollow Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 Hooked up show got trees going, only 8 channels working.
Orville Posted November 27 Posted November 27 59 minutes ago, possumhollow said: Hooked up show got trees going, only 8 channels working. Are these LOR V1 or V2 Singing Trees? V1 LOR Singing Trees, even though they are a total of 200 bulbs, only use 8 channels in Dumb mode. 1 channel for topper, 1 channel for outline, 1 channel eyes open, 1 channel for eyes closed and 4 channels for mouth movements = 8 channels total, but uses 2 ports per tree. So if the trees are V1, they only require 8 RGB CHANNELS in dumb mode to work. But still should be set for min. 500K, max. 1,000K and ELOR. So, if your trees are not lighting up entirely, you have them configured incorrectly.
