I was going through my previous cfg files and see some had "SPEED=1" or "SPEED=2" and the cfg on a prebought card from LOR shows "SPEED=4". Any idea what these mean (if anything) for a mini director? They all play fine.

Network speed.

4th is 500K

Ahh makes sense, I only do AC so upping the speed probably does nothing and any one would be fine. The purchased one assumes you may need a higher speed.

Not if you own older black USB RS485 Adapters, pre HS 1st Generation Red Adapter.ò

Also, using a Director only uses any USB RS485 adapter to update/ change a Controller ID #, update/change Controller or Director Firmware, or set a Directors realtime clock, providing it has one.

Older Gen 1 AC Controllers can't go above 115.4K speeds, nor can they use the ELOR protocol, and are usually preferred to the REGular Network on an Director.  So a mini Director should have a REGular Network and an Aux A Network.

If using Smart RGB then you need to configure 2 networks, as they normally wouldn't be on a Regular low speed network.  Put the Smart RGB on Aux A, 500K or 1000K, ELOR. And older CTB16PC AC Controller on Regular, 115.4K, uncheck the ELOR box, unless G3 Controllers, then you can use 500K, but I don't believe they support ELOR, but not 100% sure on that since I don't own a GEN3 CTB16PC controller at this time to verify if it can or not, but seems to recall they didn't.

All speeds and parameters are set in the LOR software, and depending on what Version LOR Software Suite you have will determine where you set up your SD Card Shows using these parameters.

Good Luck.
