GLSC
I have a new N2-G4-MP3 and a new Pixie16. The Pixie16 is not receiving a heartbeat from the G4. I am using the Reg network on Net1 at 500 K, ELOR. I have the Aux A network on Net2 at 115K, LOR driving RBG foods which work fine. I can access the Pixie16 via HU in Version 6.3.2 ( also new for me ). The unit-ID's are correct and I can test the pixel strings. I even reloaded the Pixie16 firmware. I COULD NOT, access the G4, using the proper connection instructions .Other than the new items, the show is the same as the one I have had working for several years. It is a small show. My G3-MP3 tested fine with the Pixie16 over the summer but quit working just as I started my Halloween show this month. Has anyone had similar experiences? Jimehc
How is the Director powered - Does the director display the clock? The Director is either power by a wall pack or the first controller... if the first controller is the Pixie16 and the director is not displaying the clock - Put a Jumper on the JP2 Header on the Pixie16 Board (header between the two network ports)
TheDucks
Second Generation Pixies added a enable Aux Power header JP2 (close to the RJ45 jax). The black Jumper is in the parts bag along with the Green port plugs. You must install this if you want to power the director from that controller. 💡 'Park' unused jumpers on a SINGLE header pin, so they don't get lost
Orville
Is the Pixie 16 the only controller on the Regular network? I know the N4-G4 MP3 DIRECTOR can only get power via Controller on the Regular network. The caveat is, ONLY ONE controller should be enabled for powering the Director(at least from my understanding), and any additional controllers MUST HAVE the ACCessory Power option DISABLED.(On ALL Director network ports). I don't recall the reasoning, but I think that it might be over-voltage, which could possibly damage the Director, rendering it non-functional and needing repair service.
