Thebug
Getting ready to start up my Halloween show and I have a 3000 pixel Matrix. Last year it was ran on a couple of Pixie controllers. This year we switched to an aurora board (I have another show running on a pixicon 16 that I've been using for years so i am comfortable with the dmx stuff kinda) and and when I go to open the preview to change the output to DMX instead of Lor every time I open the preview and click on the prop to edit it it opens the page momentarily and then sequencer crashes. I have made sure the computer software is updated and has been restarted. I have uninstalled and reinstalled lor twice. Any other suggestions? k6ccc
First or all, I was unable to duplicate this using this laptop. For my test, I took my current preview and made a copy of it (LOR to DMX test step 1). Then opened that preview for editing and changed my 3w x 2h P5 matrix (18,432 pixels) from DMX to LOR networking, and saved the preview. Next, I created a copy of that preview (LOR to DMX test step 2), and then opened the LOR to DMX test step 2 preview for editing, and changed it back to using DMX and saved it. Lastly, I created a new blank preview (LOR to DMX test step 3). In that new preview I created a single prop with a 92 x 192 pixel horizontal matrix and did not assign channels at all, and saved the prop. Then opened the prop and changed it LOR networking, and saved it again. Lastly, opened the prop and changed it to DMX and saved it again. The saved and exited the Preview Editor. When you tried it, you said it crashed the Sequencer. Were there any sort of error messages, and what did it actually do (freeze, terminate the program, something else)? What is your computer information? To answer that, in Sequencer, select Menu > Help > About the Light O Rama Sequencer. On the resulting popup, click the button to Copy to clipboard, and then paste that into your message. It will look something like this: Light-O-Rama S6 Sequencer (64-bit) Version 6.3.0 Copyright 2016-2024 Light-O-Rama, Inc. Thebug
So when I double click on the Matrix in my preview it will bring up the prop and then sequencer just closes. I will be able to get you the computer and software information here in just a bit when I get back home. I do worry I may be overloading this computer it is maybe 8 years old

k6ccc
Hmmm, so it's crashing before you even change the network type from LOR to DMX. I've got nothing...
Thebug
Yeah it's weird. The annoying thing is is I can get to work on another computer so what I did is I just created a corrected preview on that computer and I'm going to go through all my sequences and just to assign them to the new preview and hopefully that'll work Edited September 28 by Thebug
dgrant
This is out there but I'm thinking there's a registry issue. You "might" need to put in a help ticket with LOR, obtain their latest and greatest registry wipe and of course delete the LOR installation. BEFORE doing so, I'm guessing you already know to insure you backup all of your sequences and media files to another location. Backup, Backup, Backup. Then reinstall LOR, test again. Thebug
TLDR bought new computer old problem solved a few new ones are cropping up Well problem solved. kinda. All it took was heading to Walmart for a new computer for $250. After 3 times reloading lor 6.3 my frustration level peaked and I just said to heck with it. Its amazing how fast a new computer runs v a 14yo one. Only down side no port for a network cable. I didn't notice till i had it all set up and had downloaded all my sequences and LOR🤦♂️.::insert 4 letter word that got me scolded by my mom:: Off to office max for a usb to cat 5e converter. I can find the aurora board in the network tab and I can get to it from the controller setup .But can't get it to play my sequences. :: heavy sigh:: should of just found a pixicon on ebay I know how to make them work. Worst part is it's at my folks house so I spent all day there and now my wife is miffed because while I was gone our 2yo was a terror. sorry for the rant Edited September 29 by Thebug Misspellings
MattBrown
On you old computer, go to Tools > Sequencer Preferences > Startup tab, then uncheck the box for "Use accelerated graphics". That should fix it.
