wickedstangs
Ok just received my PIXIE4 Kit and lights. Can you all send me to some videos and location to steps to get started. I also plugged in the Pixie4 and got all the lights working, now what software is used to program them? Thank you Edited August 15 by wickedstangs
k6ccc
At the top of the forum on the big blue bar, look for "FAQ's - **LOOK HERE**" Under that dropdown is Video Tutorials. Start there.

Mr. P
That is not how a Pixie is numbered. If you assigned ID 03 then it will use 03 for port 1, 04 for Port 2, 05 for Port 3 and 06 for port 4. You assign the first port and the software assigns the other three in order. If your Pixie has 4 ports it uses 4 ID's, 8 ports it uses 8 id's and so on. Port 1 - ID 03 - Pixels 1-50 Port 2 - ID 04 - Pixels 1-50 Port 3 - ID 05 - Pixels 1-50 Port 4 - ID 06 - Pixels 1-50 Edited August 23 by Mr. P

k6ccc
Two things. First of all, from the Hardware Utility, can you turn on every single pixel? Second, can you post screen captures from the Preview Editor of each of the four strings.

Not sure what you mean about the Preview Editor, this window? This PREVIEW Edited August 24 by wickedstangs

k6ccc
The first string is clearly wrong because it is set up as a single channel of traditional lights. Assuming that the Pixie has an assigned address of 03 (which you previously stated), the rest look OK. Your channels shown on your test sequence in Sequencer does not make sense for pixels. Not sure what you have there - unless that screen capture was from earlier when you really had it set up wrong. Note that 57K network speed for pixels is WAY too slow.

Ok I think I am getting somewhere this morning and thank you everyone for the help.. I did a couple steps this morning and looks to be working now. First I change the Baud Rate and clicked on ELOR Next I fixed the preview edit screen 1st string and clicked on enter a channel on every row and clicked on Separate unit ID for each RGB string still have ? on that is that correct? NEXT I tried a NEW ANIMATION SEQUENCE and changed number of motions to 4 Not sure if that is correct... Next I ADD MOTION EFFECT ROW AND everything seems to be working now.. Is there steps I did not have to make?
k6ccc
On the Prop Editor where you select AutoNumber vs you enter a number on each row, in your current situation, it makes no difference since you only have one string per prop. In the case of a pixel tree for example, with 24 strings, those options give you far more control of how channels are assigned. Glad you are making progress. Since these lights are not going on any props but, will be stand alone, is there a automatic way of having them light up with music? Like a automatic light up function in the software?
