scodavis
Hello everyone, I am working with my spare Pixie16 controller that I use for when I need to test pixel props inside my house. I know the Pixie 16 devices can handle 3 strings of 50 LOR pixels, but I cannot get the third string to light no matter what I do. The thing is, from what I can tell this Pixie 16 is configured identically to the one I have outside, which does power a couple props (during Christmas) that have 150 pixels on them. Here is a list of information: I am using the latest version of S6 Pro, and the Pixie 16 controller is on the latest firmware (1.10). If I unplug the referenced controller, settings (including controller ID) don't appear to be saved and go back to defaults. There are no jumpers installed in JP5, and all DIP switches for the Unit ID are set to the off position. If I use the hardware editor to set the Pixels Per Port to 150, the program says the controller received the options successfully. If I then do a pixel test either using the hardware editor or by running a sequence, only the first 100 pixels light up. If I press the Pixie's test button to run its built in test, only the first 100 pixels light up. I hope somebody will give me a friendly slap and a "hey dude, you forgot ..." and help me out here. Thank you!
ItsMeBobO
I thought the Pixie16 address must be set with the dip switches.

Per the user manual: "Second generation Pixies have a DIP switch with 8 positions. This is used to set the unit ID. If all DIP switches are set to ‘off’, then the unit ID as set by the Hardware Utility will be used." I edited this message after realizing I had read this in the manual earlier today, but after my initial response. TheDucks
A couple of things Some (V1) did not have switches, Self test uses the Board setting, but I believe 100 is the max for Self Test

And regardless of the Self Test results, that doesn't explain why the setting keeps reverting back to 100 or why I can't control more than 100 pixels with the Hardware Editor or the Sequencer, when I am able to with the other identical controllers I have. TheDucks
It is in the manual. with the unit powered OFF Hod the Self test button , Apply POWER When the LED flashes rapidly, release. That should put it back to factory.

During that time, the controller would not detect. I power-cycled it again, and then it read normally; however, it still will not store a Unit ID change or a change to the setting of the number of pixels per port. Where are you trying to change the settings? If needed shoot me a PM with the steps you have taken and screenshots of where you are or at least write them Out exactly.
