FystyChristmas
I switched over to Pixie controllers this year. Everything was working great until a night or two ago when number 8 mini tree (on port 8 of the Pixie16) started to act strange. It turns on and kind of flickers but doesn't match the sequence. I've tried resetting the controller, reassigning the unit ID, swapped strings of lights to make sure it wasn't lights. The problem follows port 8 so not the lights. I've also switched out extensions, the dongle and Cat 5 cable just to make sure and still have the issue. When I swap the green connectors inside the controller, the problem follows port 8. I'm not sure what else I can try. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Edited December 10, 2023 by FystyChristmas

Look at the connections on Port 5's Green plug and make sure there is no insulation caught in the clamping area (and it is snug)
FystyChristmas
I checked and everything is tight and no insulation is blocking the connection. I swamped out the green connector and dongle for port 8 and got the same results, the mini tree flickers and doesn't match the sequence. Also, when I do the manual light test by pushing the reset button once, trees 1-7 work fine with 8 doing the same flickering as with a sequence. Jimehc
I have a Pixie16 doing the exact same thing... If you put slight pressure on the network jack or #8 terminal block it seems to correct itself.... I have had this happen before on another board and the pins going into the Board needed to be reworked with solder, under warranty... Problem is it is the middle of the season and I do not want to drop a whole controller due to a bad solder joint on one port.. So for now that #8 is not being use and the prop removed from the Display... Edited December 10, 2023 by Jimehc
FystyChristmas
I checked both the green lug connector and network connections. Putting pressure didn't change things. Still have the flickering on tree 8 port 8. Its very strange.
