Yodlei
Using v5.6.8 Pro & LED/mini lights. I'm finally getting the hang of the music part of sequencing (very addictive) & have about 8 songs done, except for the HC Singing Monsters parts. I'm 3/4 of the way to the end of a sequence & there is a section with very fast drum beats. Fixed 0.1 has worked for everything so far. I assume this answer might be yes but I don't want to screw up what I already have. Saw I could add a beat channel under the Sequence section at the top of screen. This won't screw up what I've already done, will it? Another example...I was able to make "blips" of spiders by using a down fade for each one, giving the illusion of them climbing but the drum beats above are even faster. Figured I might need 1/2 beats, if that makes sense? Edited August 22 by Yodlei added LED/mini lights
PhilMassey
A beat channel is just an empty channel which does not control lights or appear in the playback view window, You can use one with any of the beat wizards or just use to to manually mark events for reference. A beat channel will appear at the top of a sequence and will stay there. It wont affect any sequencing or existing timing grids, For really fast timings you might need a 0.05 timing or perhaps a shimmer will suffice. Yodlei
Your bottom sentence is what I thought I needed (my phraseology isn't the best since I'm still somewhat of a newbie) so do I import another grid & if so, I won't screw up what I have already, will I? OR how do I change to a .05 timing? (I thought timings were under beat channels when starting a new sequence which I why I called it that). Shimmer won't work as that is a little too fast & already tried playing around with that. This may sound dumb but the faster the timing, the smaller the cells, correct? Solution PhilMassey Posted August 22 Solution Share Posted August 22 Smaller cells = faster timing. Realistically, faster than 0.04 is about as fast as the program will detect reliably. You can have as many timing grids as you want. Accessed from the timing dropdown at the top right of the toolbar. Events placed in any grid will appear in all grids. You can label the grids so you know which is which if you wish.

Yodlei
I may add....had to plaster my face up to the screen to see which cell to use. God, they are tiny!!

In the middle of the menu bar is a drop down. The default is Normal. Select 1/2x and listen to the drum beats. On some music, it will stretch the notes. Stick it back on normal to continue on when done. 2 minutes ago, Yodlei said: I may add....had to plaster my face up to the screen to see which cell to use. God, they are tiny!! Click the Time In icon on the menu bar. 2 green triangles and it will expand the grid size for you.

Not seeing the "Time In" part but just tried "zoom" & see what it's doing so I assume that is it. Thx much!!

It's been a while since I played with that version. But if you click it, the grid will get bigger or smaller depending on which one you clicked. Also you can use spitter AI to pull out 5 different stem tracks from the audio file. I use it to pull the bass, drums, other, piano, and vocals out into separate files. This works about 90-95% of the time and can help greatly with those really fast and low sounding beats.
