marty h
Hello and thanks in advance. My question may be stupid but i need a little help. If I want to outline my hose with RGB pixels or even ribbons what do you do to get the correct length? Say a roof line or window is 15' in length but a strand of light is 25'. what od you do with the extra length. Ive seen houses that seem to be outlined in ribbons that are all different lengths. I have several RGB ribbon props but use the ribbons in full length. So my question on this would be how are they getting the correct length? Thanks Marty
TheDucks
Dumb RGB: (a string is always all the same color) just cut at the cut marks (typ every 3 LED). Every section is the same (and still dumb 😛) You can extend those pieces wit 4 cond wire (you also need to use wire for sharp corners. (IMHO skip the L's, +'s and T's that press on over the solder pads. SOLDER all connections) Total Length rules still apply (minus a bit if you use other than short jumpers) You CAN wire crosses and T's Smart RGB (each LED cut group is a Node and can be controlled independently) Same cut location rule. The Difference is NO crosses or T's, only L's or extensions Every cut section restarts at node +1. It depends what it connects to. If it is a controller. it is Node 1. If it is the tail of another smart node string, it is that Plus 1 Smart RGB is a bit fussier about length and voltage drop
