MakeItGlow
Heya folks! I am using a Director for my LoR controller. This is to control a very large neon sign. When the sign powers on (there is a timer circuit that turns on power to the controller as well as facade lighting) I am wanting to run a couple start-up sequences. This is to warm up the neon and argon gases. The show has a sequence that one-by-one turns on every letter and color, a sequence that holds everything on for a set time to resolve any flickering, and then a sequence that transitions into the start state of my Show 2 loop. Problem is, I don't know how to make Show 2 start when Show 1 ends. Is that possible? I have Show 1 set as to play once, and Show 2 to Loop. Both are set to turn on when the unit powers on. Show 1 plays fine, but once it's over nothing happens. Is this just not how it works? Is there a work-around, or do I need to build my Show 1 as one sequence and add it as an "Optional startup sequence" and move my Show 2 loop to being Show 1? Thanks for any insight! k6ccc
As far as I know, it is possible, but it depends on which Director you have. I've never used a Director, so I am not the one to ask how to accomplish it...

If you are using a Mini-Director you can only have 1 show loaded onto the SD card. If you are running a Showtime Director (with a digital readout) then you'd need to schedule the shows to run at certain times.
Jimehc
When you create the show - you will use a "Startup Sequence" after that sequence plays through once - it will start playing the actual Show (set of sequences) that will loop for the remaining time duration... So if the sign needs 5 minutes to warm up - create a 5 min all on sequence for "Startup" - then add your show sequences that will loop..
Orville
To do what you want, if using the HU {although I'm not sure if the HU is still useable in this manner in newer versions of the LOR software}, I use S4.4.16 Pro and the HU to create my SD Card shows. Anyway, if the MP3 Tab is still available, and you can use the HU to write to an SD Card, this is a simple task to do, in the lower center right side of the HU under the MP3 tab is an option that states Optional Start Sequence, put the Neon Sign warm up sequence in this section, then add your normal show sequence in the MP3 Player Showlist, don't worry about the "MP3" in the header, as you select Animation files for this same area, but will have to select either ALL Files or Animation Files from the drop-down box under this window that displays the show sequence files. So if you have a Neon Sign Normal sequence, put it in this area, make sure you have selected "Plays anytime powered", then just write the Show to the SD Card, insert in Director and when the Controller and Sign are powered on, and if the Director gets power from the Controller, the Director will play the start up sequence for the sign, then after the startup sequence runs for the duration you have it for, like 5 minutes, the Animation sequence MUST be 5 minutes long for the 5 minute warm-up time, one that time has been reached, the Start Sequence will now go into the actual Show sequence {Show01} and run the Neon Sign Normally unbtil shutdown, if power loss happens and the controller and sign restart, the Startup sequence will run again, but will only run at Startup of the show. So the Startup sequence is on the card at all times, but is only run ONCE as power is turned on and everything starts, after that, the Show file will continually loop and play your normal show and sign will operate properly. I run 4 shows on my Director during Halloween and Christmas. So, yes, what you want to do can be done, and this is the only way I know how to accomplish this with a Director. If you use the HUB to create your SD Card shows, you should find an area that says "When this show starts... (optional)", this is where your startup sequence would go. It should work the same as described above.

The OP is using LOR 6. Shows are created from the Control Panel now, including SD Cards.
