Last Show for 2022

I'm ending my show tonight. Cars stopping by dwindled down to near nothing last night. So tonight is my final 2022 show, then the work starts again to take it all apart and put it away till next November or new home.

I run mine until midnight December 31, then at midnight I run a 15 minute New Years Show.

We are supposed to get days of rain, so it will stay up longer. I am thinking of washing my car (bucket only due to drought rules) to encourage the rain.

I run my shows until Jan 1st and then an All On static show until 1/6 (Twelfth Night for those keeping track...you know, the ACTUAL Twelfth Day of Christmas). Yeah, I'm one of those holdouts.

Jan 6th is Three Kings Day - the day the Three Wise Men came to the manger bearing Gifts for Baby Jesus.

I typically go through Jan 1 depending on what day of the week it hits. Best case when it hits on a Friday then I have a weekend to start the teardown. Weather being good of course. I also use these days to test stuff on new seq for next year since it's all set up and not a big deal to interrupt the show for a few minutes.

My standard statement is that I run through the Friday night after New Years, however that does depend on how many people are watching.  With New Years Day on the weekend the past couple years, it messed that up a bit, so it has varied some.  I'm not in any great hurry to shut it down.  Since the first Friday after New Years is 12th night or Three Kings Day, I will likely make that the last night.  Then start taking it down the next day.  Maybe get enough done that the gardener can mow the lawn on Tuesday - it's getting really long with the weather that we have been having...

Two dry warm days on Sunday and Monday. That will be take down day in case the weather goes south after that.

Last Monday was 5 deg. Next Monday is supposed to be 70. Take what you get.

Cars no longer coming my way either. Stopped coming right after Christmas day. So I leave some lights on static. Certain lights on sequence other than that all else is off. Still somewhat cold here. Nevertheless I will take some stuff down.

I started taking mine down today. Since I did two homes, I got about halfway with the neighbor's house today then the wind came up. But at least, it was a bit warmer. Weather speaks volumes when it comes to taking it down.

The wind came up just as I was trying to lower my MTree. The slider stuck (17 strands on it) and my neighbor lent a hand and just leaned it over.👍 2 Candy canes and floods left outside. The stuff in the windows is easy and can be done while it rains (scheduled for the rest of the week)
