Changed my sequences over from S4 to S5 and problems

I converted all my sequences from S4 to S5 and now my Halloween ones won't play my CCR tree! The Christmas ones are ok, but when I check the Halloween ones they have the wrong network showing from the archive file that says not showing. I click on those and it says network C instead of D. Tried to change them but it would be 50xs 16 to do it and don't know if it would work. Help!

In the Preview editor, there is a "Bulk Changes" tab that can be used to change the network all the channels in a prop with one click.

Presumably it would not be 16 x 50 places to change since you would be changing one (or maybe just a few) props.  Preview editor is very much prop oriented - not individual channels.  What I mean by that is if I were to change all 7800 channels of my 26 x 100 pixel tree, I would change it in one place - take less than 10 seconds.

The problem is the preview shows the correct name but the sequence converted it to the wrong network.

Problem is when I " converted" the sequences from S4 to S5, the sequences have a network of C instead of D. The preview props still say D. I need to somehow change the sequences, not the preview or props.

In my sequence, CCR01 through CCR 16 are listed and show the programs. If I expand CCR 01 for example,  it splits to CCR Tree r01 c16. If I double click that, the archived prop definition comes up under CCR Tree and shows network C with my usual channels. I have always run them on D.

There are 2 solutions:

  1. If the prop is correct in the preview, then there are 2 props in the sequence: The prop as it is in the preview; and the archived prop. In this case, simply select all he rows in the archived prop; copy; and paste to the new prop. Then you can delete the archived prop from your sequence.
  2. If he prop is not (yet) in the preview, or if you just want to recreate it and will delete it from the preview first, then use the "Sequence" -> "@ Manage Archived Props" menu. In the "Archived Props" dialog, select the prop and click "Add To Preview". Then fix it in the Preview.

In S5/S6, the network/unit/channel for props are stored in the Preview, not the sequence. (Actually, a copy of the preview is stored in the sequence, but that's just a copy that will be overwritten if changes to the preview are made.) The exception is archived props, whose network/unit/channel is stored in the sequence, but that's just for reference, because they can't control any lights.

I bought a new sequence and opened it in S5. Problem is their CCR tree isn't "matching" to my previews. I double checked my tree and even tried creating a new prop using their labeling and still can't get it to change to my networks and channels.  HELP!

Confirm what I think you are saying.  The sequence you bought is using different Unit IDs than your pixel tree.  In other words, for example the sequence you bought uses Unit IDs 01 - 10 and your tree uses IDs 20 - 2F.  Obviously those IDs are just examples.

Yes, they are listed as CCR 01 through 16. Mine are the same ,but I can't figure out how or where I can change the networks ( theirs is regular and mine is auxD) or the channels or ports ( Theirs is p1 and mine are 29 through 38)?

Are you using S4 or S5?

also assume it is a modifiable sequence.

In S4 sequence editor, it is easy (but not a single step for Pixies. I guess they did this to allow moving SOME ports to a new controller)

Tools: channel configuration: change controller (button at bottom): Select PORT/ID from list at top: set new values at bottom (Net, Unit ID)

DO NOT EVER overlap Net-ID-Port, there are no error traps.

Do Not walk (rotate) ID's in a single SE session eg B->C, A->B, C->A

Unfortunately I have just switched to S5. I knew how to do it in S4 but it won't allow me to do it the same way. I even tried creating a preview just for their sequence on still no luck changing it. I have purchased from this vendor before and never had this issue.
