v6.0.10.

Musical sequence using 700 pixels on a Pixie 8 configured for the regular network at 500K.

Runs fine from Sequencer.

Control Panel -> SD Cards

SD card is formatted FAT

Create new SD Card Show

  • Called 'Show 1'
  • Select your device: Mini-Director.  (In my case it's a uMP3g3 running firmware 5.36)
  • Number of ports: 1
  • Product Generation: G3
  • Added one known good musical sequence
  • Show 1 plays 'whenever the Mini-Director has power'
  • Loop continuously
  • Port 1 is Regular network, ELOR, 500K
  • Skip MP3 header (default)
  • Turn used lights off at end (default)
  • Write the card.

Insert SD card in uMP3g3 miniDirector with firmware 5.36.  After a few seconds the music starts but no lights.

Swap out miniDirector for a G3-MP3 Director with firmware 5.38.  After a few seconds the music starts and the lights flash.

I've tried multiple miniDirectors with 5.36 firmware.  All get same result.  Music but no lights.

Tried different 2GB and 4GB SD cards.  Same results.

Is this a subtle hint not to use pixel sequences on a miniDirector?

A bit more info.  I found a uMP3g4 Mini-Director and it works as it should: sound and lights.

Sooooooooooo... should g3 mini-directors be avoided?

This is a bug in the S6 Control Panel that affects cards built for a G3 director. It will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for reporting the issue!
