Feature request. Allow Windows Multiple Select in Override file Select.

In Control Panel the file select dialog in Override only allows one file at a time. Control or Shift do not work. This works as expected in Show Player File Selection.

It would also be nice if this worked in the Sequencer File Open dialog.

An override only has a single file attached to it, as its not a playlist like the different show sections. Would the request be an override can include a playlist/multiple files?

Yes, I realize it's not a playlist and it might be confusing if it behaved like one. But the override can hold multiple files which allows you to have all your files there if you want, ready to select, cued up, so to speak.

Not a big deal though,

Sure, I am just wondering what your use case was for multiple files within an override. Having a playlist of files within an override would really not be too confusing and handy at times.

The other alternative would be On Demand Show to play multiple files, especially if an On-Demand show could be played X number of times through instead of setting an arbitrary end time. This would act very similar to override behavior, but include interactive triggers as well.

It sounds like you are using overrides as a way to test your sequences and less so for an override in a real show, which when paired with the phone app, makes its convenient when out in the yard?

Jeremiah, I think what Phil is talking about is when adding sequences to the OverRide panel - not when requesting that one of the sequences in the OverRide window play.

Understood he may want a way to do a mass import of multiple sequences with the same override settings rather than a single override with multiple files. But if we do the former, it adds extra steps to allow multiple files in the same override as you would be prompted each time you select multiple files on whether you want to create multiple overrides or a single override.

It's more about understanding the need or context with adding a mass number of sequences in the overrides, as there could be other alternatives.

The only thing I meant to change was to enable control and shift functions in the windows file select dialog to allow multiple selections rather than only be able to select one file at a time. The add files dialog in the main show player allows multiple selections and always has.

As you say, I am just testing at the moment. It just struck me that having multiple files sitting in override would allow for a quick selection.

There might indeed be a place for playing sequential files in override, but I am not yet sure of the need or value.

Ok. Yeah, I just wanted to understand the use case for a bulk add of override sequences. The intended use for an override is to quickly play something during a show that had a pre-planned purpose (could be ad-hoc too). So that could be a specialized happy birthday or marriage proposal sequence when a VIP shows up, a clear traffic sequence for busy traffic, or any other quick announcement. So the thinking is you wouldn't have many overrides to add. Perhaps override is a bad name, its more like an interrupt or alert.

The reason I asked about multiple sequences within an override is for that VIP scenario. You may want multiple sequences because its cumbersome to combine media files (for example, not everyone knows audacity or equivalent or its just easier to re-use a sequence if you kept media files separate). So if an override allowed multiple sequences, this could easily be done. An on-demand show is still a valid option as well. Especially with S6 because its more automatic and lets you play one without your house going dark. The on-demand show can be started while a show is playing (both shows are visible in the current shows section), then you can stop the on-demand gracefully or immediately and your scheduled show resumes automatically.

But for quick testing a lot of sequences, check out the Live Player mode. In there, you can bulk add multiple sequences and play them. Your scheduled shows won't run while in that mode and it doesn't have a concept of a queue or upcoming sequences.

I like the idea of being able to open multiple files at once in the sequencer though.

Bulk add to Override list - rather than Bulk Play Override.. Currently you can only add one Sequence at a time to the "List" to be played on demand later

May I please add to this area. I just saw that there's no way to re-arrange the override sequences. Its minor but better to find something important immediately.
