Bug report - End of show error

I need to explain this one a bit for the log extract to make sense.  This is new with 6.0.6.  My landscape overnight show is a simple (all static with less than 20 channel in use) animation that is 4:00.00 long and runs all night - ending at 07:00:00 (after the sun comes up even in the dead of winter).  There are two interactive groups.  The first is my steps groups that causes the front porch steps lights to ramp up when any of three different input triggers from someone approaching the porch or opening the front door.  That part is working mostly (a separate bug report about that).  The second interactive group is triggered by a light sensor that detects that the sun is coming up in the morning.  That triggers a 2:00.00 animation sequence that has a single channel to 100% on continuously and has a loop for almost all of the sequence duration that repeats 100 times.  That one channel energizes a 4PDT relay that opens my LOR Regular and Aux-A networks.  The downstream controllers lose signal and shortly thereafter turn off.  This is my work around to no way to shut down a show based on an interactive trigger (yes, that feature has been requested).  Note that the one controller that controls the "show kill" relay is upstream of the kill relay, so that one controller continues to see the show computer.  That one controller also controls a security light which I noticed was still running yesterday during the day - how I discovered this problem.  At the 07:00:00 end of the overnight show, there is a shutdown sequence that turns everything off.  The last item is because most relays do not like carrying little or no current (there are special relays for this purpose that I am NOT using), I have a sequence that runs every day that pulses that relay a bunch of times to wipe the contacts so that it continues to function properly.  That sequence runs at 07:45:00 for one minute (yes, that will be important when I start explaining the log extract).

This is normal function of the overnight show and the sun is up trigger detecting and initiating the Show Kill sequence.  The show computer does not have any way of knowing that the show kill relay has disconnected the controllers that it thinks it is controlling, so it continues to play the Landscaping overnight sequence.

Jim,

Since 6.0.6 came out, I have made some fixes for interactive shows. I tried to duplicate the situation you describe above (sans relays), but the interactive show ended normally (perhaps because of the fixes). I suggest we test again after the next release.

Just for your consideration, here's the workaround I use for a similar situation:

I have a background sequence that turns on relay channels that power inflatables. (Yes, I don't like inflatables either, but my show is 6 houses and I have to accommodate the neighbors.) One inflatable sits right in front of a Grinch coroplast. The requirement was to turn off that inflatable ("Hot Chocolate") during the Grinch sequence. I could have added the Hot Chocolate inflatable channel to all my sequences, and kept it on except for the Grinch sequence (and the end of the preceding sequence), but that seemed messy.

The workaround was to make a sequence called "Deflate Hot Chocolate" with 1 channel: the Hot Chocolate inflatable. Because the background sequence and the Deflate sequence control the same channel, I needed to make the "Deflate" sequence more forceful, or when the background sequence restarts every 30 seconds, it would turn it back on too soon. So the "Deflate" sequence turns the Hot Chocolate channel to 0%, then 1%, then 0%, etc. every second. 1% isn't going to do anything to the (12v) relay, and if the background sequence does cycle, the channel will be on for less than a second, which is not enough to inflate.

The "Deflate" sequence is added as a sub-sequence to both the Grinch sequence, and the one that precedes it. No other sequence needed ta have any modifications. After the Grinch sequence finishes, the background sequence will turn the Hot Chocolate inflatable on within 30 seconds.
