dgrant Posted July 10, 2022 Share Posted July 10, 2022 I think we need the ability to manually create the Playback Files either individually or in-mass. The example being, I'm now waiting to test the show on demand function, where its doing what is expected, creating playback files. Had I been able to do this manually at some earlier point, I wouldn't be waiting now. Also I noticed one was re-created because it was out of date by 7.0 days. I'm setting everything up for the coming season even though its July. I would prefer to not have to go through this when the time comes later this year. As part of testing my re-installation of S6.0.4 on my server, I ran a Show on Demand that was a show that had every sequence that was in my 2021 show It was a "show" that was specifically built to drive the S5 Sequence Compressor. Took longer to compress (1 hour, 20 minutes, 3 seconds) than it would take to play (1 hour, 5 minutes, 47 seconds). dgrant Posted July 14, 2022 Author Share Posted July 14, 2022 Mine suddenly started generating errors while creating playback files for sequences I didn't think had been changed. I reopened each sequence that was reporting an error and found nothing wrong with it other than the flag showing "something" had changed. I restarted the show player and still had the same sequence errors showing up again. No new playback files were created for the reporting sequences either. I ended up shutting off the CP and restarting. So far, its now recreating those same playback files that were having issues. It appears...that when adding a new sequence to a CUE file, unless you save it, disable the player, close the CP, restart the CP, then Open the CUE file, then it'll play the added file. The error tracing says it can't find the media file and it might also add that the media was already being used by another process. Steven Posted July 18, 2022 Share Posted July 18, 2022 Here's how I would like to see this implemented: If the option is enabled, AND the show player is enabled, AND a show is not currently playing, THEN the show player will scan for updated .loredit files in the Sequence folder. When a file is found that is scheduled to be played in an upcoming (i.e. enabled) show, then the corresponding playback file will be (re)generated right now.
