The Beta software is FREE to download for any customer with an activated Light-O-Rama license. The Beta testing period for S6 ends on August 7, 2022.
Read the FAQs and rules then download the software by visiting this webpage.

Beta Testing Requirements

The S6 Beta requires that you are using Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. (S6 will not run on 32-bit computers or on Windows 8 or below.) An AMD or Intel processor is required.

After install, you may see a message that your license is not valid for S6. The following sentence explains that the Beta version of S6 is free to all Light-O-Rama license holders, but once the Beta expires, you will need to purchase a Major Release Upgrade in order to use the official version of S6.

What is "Beta Software?"
Beta software is code that has been tested by the programmers who have written it and has received some internal testing by other members of the company.  The software is stable enough to be tested by a rather large group, but it is not software that is ready for general release.

When testing beta software, please make sure to save often (and backup your files before even downloading) so that if something crashes, you'll minimize your loss.

Who should download Beta software?
Beta testing is not for everyone.  Beta software will have more problems in it than officially released software.  Testing beta software allows a user to find out if an enhancement does what they need, and if not, provide suggestions on how to fix or improve the software.

Do NOT use the beta software if you are not ready to uncover bugs/problems, or just want to complain/request features.  People who volunteer to test beta software must report bug problems, but please do not complain that there ARE problems - problems are expected!

Can I get phone or Help Desk support for Beta products?
The Short Answer? No.

Beta software is expected to have issues, and we prefer to handle those issues in the dedicated section of the forums (instructions outlined in the next section).  If you have an issue, please post it in the proper place rather than calling or opening a help desk ticket.  We will not be answering S6 questions via those methods and will be directing all calls and tickets to the Beta forum.

Your post title and contents must follow the guidelines below. We DO read every comment, even if we don't respond. Following the naming convention and avoiding duplicate posts helps us evaluate feedback more quickly.

Beta "Bug Report"
Post Title Requirement: "Bug Report - {Summary}"

What is a bug? When software does not do what it is supposed to do.  For example: You click the stop button and the music does not stop, the program crashes, etc. If the function works but does so in a manor (such as too slow) where the usability of the product is in question, then that should be reported as a bug as well.

When reporting a bug, you must include the following in your forum post:

- Program Used {Sequencer, Control Panel, Phone App, etc.}

- Beta Version {We may release multiple copies as changes are made. Please do not report bugs for anything other than the newest version.}

- OS Version {Windows Platform. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, is required.}

- Hardware Used {The new features of S6 mainly relate to show control, which will involve using hardware}

- Files Used {If you are having trouble with a Sequence, audio file, etc, please attach the file to your post. If there is a program crash or major performance issue, please zip and attach the entire "Logs" folder within the Documents-->Light-O-Rama folder to your post.}

- Description {As much detail as possible about the problem/bug}

- Repeatability {Recreate the problem at least twice, and list exact steps that caused the issue}

Duplicate Reports: Please search the forums to see if a person has already reported your issue before opening a duplicate thread. Please add your comments to the original post with the above information.

Beta "Feature Request"
Post Title Requirement: "Feature Request - {Summary}"

What is a feature request? Something you think would be cool for us to add to the software, but the software does work without it.

Feature requests made during Beta testing are NOT GUARENTEED TO BE INCORPORATED IN ANY PRODUCTION RELEASE OF S6.

Feature requests made via the forums will be read by the developers, but may not be responded to since the focus of Beta testing is correcting bugs. All "feature requests" will be evaluated and sorted into four categories internally by the Light-O-Rama staff. (Please do not suggest to us which category you think your feature request falls in.) We will not comment in the forums about when/if your feature request may be incorporated.

- Added to first S6 Official Production Release {If the Feature request would correct a bug or provide a necessary improvement to useability.}

- Consideration for 6.2.0+ {An interesting idea, but for later releases of S6}

- Consideration for S7 {An interesting idea, but not until we develop S7 in a few years}

- Not in Consideration {Not feasible at this time, not within our vision for the S6 software, or a rude comment made with no basis}

The point of Beta testing is to find and correct BUGS in the new version of software we have created. Additional features {internally or externally requested} will be considered for later versions of S6 or in future generations of our software.

Please do not download the Beta if your only intent is to complain or request features instead of testing for bugs.
