Combine Pixel Tree and 6-channel Star

I have a 50x24 pixel tree I've been using for 8 years. It has a 6-pixel star (made with 50 dumb RGB nodes and a controller) that I have always sequenced separately, mostly because my SuperStar license was limited to 24 strings.

Now that I got the free upgrade to 60_CCR, it's possible to include the star when using SuperStar. But how do I do that? The tree and the star are currently separate props in the Preview. When I try to open SuperStar for both at once, it says "SuperStar effects must be placed on a single motion effect row."

Create a group with both props.
