Landscape lighting and 2022 Season Questions [ Newbie]

Hello All,

I've been keeping an eye on LOR products for awhile now, and after closing on our house last month I want to start planning/executing for the 2022 season and have a few questions:

1 - Looking to start of with landscape lighting to get familiar with the product/software and capability and looking to wall wash the front of our two story house - Would you recommend the 10W or 50W floods?  I've searched around and not seeing any good feedback/comparisons on these two, so hopefully someone here does and can share feedback and/or examples?

2 - Continuing the landscape lighting theme - Rather than going with cheap RGB lights that don't offer much control (I.E. Govee bulb lights - https://us.govee.com/collections/bulb-string-lights), does anyone have any recommendations for a similar LOR product (Design itself, ignoring the software/dance to music and etc features) to use for backyard string/bulb lights?  I.E. Replacement bulbs for the C9 product or etc?

3 - Looking towards the 2022 Season - I see that there are several starter controller packages (I.E. TSO Signature vs Showtime vs Pro vs Residential) and I'm not seeing much of a difference between them items that may included, is there anything I may be overlooking or should I just get the kit that includes the items I want and add on anything I may be missing?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/feedback you can share!

I am likely one of the best guys to talk to about year round landscape lights around here - I have been doing so since 2011.  Take a look at my website - http://newburghlights.org  Particularly the Technical and year round lighting sections.  That will give some ideas...

Most likely a few 10 watt floods rather than one 50 watt.  The 50 watt floods are likely going to be more light than you want.  And easier to get more even light from several smaller lights rather than a small number of really bright ones.

My website info will help with that.  After reading, ask specific questions.  And if you want to get on the phone and talk about it, just ask.

Because I started with landscape lighting as opposed to a Christmas show, I dont' have all that good of answers for #3.

Thank you!  Yours was one of the posts/sites I saw but didn't see the wattage used, although full disclosure I skimmed through it....will check it out again tonight/this weekend 👍

I also run landscape lights year round. I took my old landscape lights, gutted them out and installed dumb RGB lights inside. I run the lights from a CMB24D as it can function as a stand alone and I plug it into a smart outlet so it runs when powered on. I also have five of the 10w floods as the 50w are really bright and overkill.

Like Mr P, I load a butt simple RGB sequence into my CMB24 using HU, and connect the controllers to a photo celled timer

(Timer enables, but the photocell keeps the lights off till dark. The timer turns everthin off at a preset time.
