Paul McGuire
I am new to this. I have 4 16 channel controllers. Most of the sequences I can understand, as I am just following suggestions. I want to add 2 arches. I am looking at tis product to add: (NEW CCR+) Cosmic Color Controller II with 2 CCR-II RibbonsItem# CCC-II-with-2-CCR-II $229.95 Am I headed in the right direction? I want to make chase sequences in my display. I have purchased sequences, no modifications allowed. Would this product work for what I want to do, and does it fit with pre programmed sequences? I do have the software also, advanced version. Thank you. P.S. I have read and re read the forum instructions. I have made considerable effort to get my question posted in the correct forum. If not, please go easy on me :-)
TheDucks
The ribbons are 16+ feet long, so 2 arches, and the need to be almost next to the controller UNLESS you also buy the proper Extension cable to reach the second arch. Ribbons are fragile. They need to be protected . The advantage is there are really 150 light sources (addressable as groups of 3) overall Bullets are more robust but the 6" spacing (25' lighted) might be off putting. (you could tuck the excess flat cable between nodes) You can CUT between nodes and very carefully add wire. WARRANTY VOIDS if you do this So How many Arches? What will be their LIGHTED LENGTH? and how far apart? BTW Pixies should be run on a RED adapter. If your 4 @ AC controllers are Gen 3 (green status LED), they can share. IMHO Just go for another Network as 1) you WILL ad more. 2)ELOR mode prevents use of user interaction devices on that network.
Paul McGuire
Thanks, TheDucks. I was going to make 2 arches and initially wanted them about 30 feet apart. I was going to use hi density polyethylene tubes, 10 feet long, 1.5” in diameter, so whatever lights I use would go inside. The extension cable you reference goes between the light ribbons? I have green light controllers. I presume there is a chase sequence in some/all? Of the pre programmed sequences? Can I put arches apart and run off different channels? Thanks for your time, I am a novice !

Thanks for your time, I am a novice ! For Pixie, they are Ports. your CCR2 (AKA Pixie 2) has 2 ports (and each port is a LOR ID) Extension (LOR sells them) go between the controller and the string. http://store.lightorama.com/ex12vo3pingr2.html (25' Green) My Pref would be (50) Bullets. Zip tie them flat against their cable. Choose a spacing, Loop excess past, About 2.25" centers. (just under 10' if I did good maths) They should slide (with the help of a pull string) into those tubes They have a 5' lead, so you can come close to your 30' with 1 extension. IMHO don't push the Pixel count (100) AND and an extension, too much voltage drop leads to odd stuff near the ends
Paul McGuire
Thank You! Just what I was looking for! Maybe one day, I’ll be able to answer questions! I’ll just say, ask TheDucks! 😀
