Need help with projection and LOR

We're doing a show, our first ever, and are having issues with getting our video to play and sync with the LOR sequence. We have read that to get the lights, video, and audio to be in sync, the video/audio (as whatever file type is supported by the Sequencer) should be put in the LOR Sequencer and then played from the computer through the projector. We have a director, and have read that we're not supposed to use it in order to get it to all play together.

What we don't understand, is how do we get the LOR sequence to work with our 16 channel controller if it's being operated from a computer. Running just the video and audio through the computer to the projector is the easily understood/done part, but how do we get the lights to work/run at the same time? How do we get the sequence to play on the computer to the controller?

One more question, since we need to test the show to make sure things are playing right - how do we just play it from the computer?

Is there a specific software we need to use to play it outside of the schedule?

You will use the video file as the media file in the Sequencer and sequence to that. When the sequence plays, so will the video if the video preferences are set in Tools/Preferences.

So, we made those changes. Have the HDMI going to the projector -video and audio work great - and the ethernet cable going through the LOR adapter to the controller, but the sequence doesn't play. How do we get the LOR show to work from the computer?

Please don't call the cat 5 an Ethernet cable. In this application the cat 5 goes from the LOR USB adaptor to your controller. The adaptor is not Ethernet and is only to be connected to the USB port. Calling it Ethernet may cause someone to connect their controller to the computers Ethernet port which may let the magic smoke out.

In any case to test the video in a sequence the controller need not be connected.

Have you created a sequence with the video file set as the media file. Simply playing the sequence should show the video. Now you will need to create the sequence to match the audio in the video.
