Dan Ancona
I wish to run a tree from one controller and several mini trees and arches from another controller and snowflakes / star from a third.I created some sequences that would run about 3 - 5 min. In what manner would I program the sequnce to run a full 6hrs or whatever time frame I wish.I created a loop and clicked run to end of show. If I do this, would i have to set up the show / animation to run 6hrs at inception of the setting up the sequence? I had one like that, but the program errored out on an 8 channle - file too large. Is there an alternative way that I am unaware? I have read several help files / tutorials and must be missing something. Thanks,Dan Copied to correct forum - sequences
cmoore60
Dan,If your trying to load stand alone seqences in each controller there really is no need to.Simply create one sequence on your computer that includes all the animation you want to do. Assign your channels just as IF you would run them from your computer. From my experience there is no need to loop for this to work. After you create a sequence with all your animation download it into one of your 16 channel controllers, they have more memory for standalone. Then network all your controllers together and plug them in. When the unit that you downloaded to is powered on, it will sent the commands to the other controllers and you will have your show.To start and stop the one controller you can simple remove power and your entire show will then stop.Chuck
Dan Ancona
Chuck,What you are saying then, is make one (A) the director? controlling B and C? I was really not wanting to do this, since each is seperated in different parts of the yard. (the 8 would be on the roof). And if the sequence origianlly is made for say 5 min., how would I tell the controller to run that 5 min the whole time the controller is powered up?I'm a little brain dead from reading tooooo many treads and got myself confused. I usually pick up this stuff quickly - very frustrating now.
cmoore60
I believe that the 8 channel does not have enough memory for that large of a sequence, depending on the number of commands of course. The sequence will repeat on it's own in stand alone. My entire show is only a 1 minute animation that plays repeatedly all night long. I use the computer to control to have the schedule part.Chuck
Dan Ancona
thanks, Chuck. From what I hear, the 'show' will run constantly while the controller is powered up, no loops, no need for a 5 hour sequence.BTW: can I test a "show" from the sequence utility without downloading from the hardware utility??Never mind...... you answered this in another tread! Thanks!!!
cmoore60
yes you can test your sequence from the computer. Just because the controller has the capability of stand alone does not mean you have to use that capability.I have 10 controllers that are of the deluxe flavor and only used the stand alone one time for a friend's special to do.Chuck
