Pixie8 states 200 pixels per port. S5 seems to only allow 170.

Recently bought 2 pixie8's to expand my display this coming Christmas. After setting up controllers unit ID's and confirming color order I made a test preview with one port having 179 pixels. This is the only port in my display that will be exceeding 170 pixels. I wrote a sort sequence to confirm. Only 170 pixels will light. The pixie8 v4 documentation states each port can support 200 pixels. In the Prop design it say "Carry Over" 27. What does Carry Over mean? Does it mean 27 circuit are carried over to the next port? If so, It seems to me that S5 can only deal with a max of 170. Am I missing something?

You will only get 170 pixels to Light on any specific pixie controller port unless you get the pixielink and run it in e1.31 (DMX).

Then it uses universes.

Thanks JR. That’s what I thought. I’ll just change my layout for now to get under 170. Shouldn’t be too hard.

Remember to set the intensity to 20 or 30%

You are welcome. Have questions feel free to ask.

So how does the carryover work? or it doesn't ?

You should not have any carry over in a non DMX setting. This is only for universes.

The OP must have selected “DMX” while in the prop def.
