Kulpy
I have a pixie 8, 12v and using 100 count square nodes. Some of my props I use have any where between 110 to 140. So when I add 35 pixels and I am in the HU the first 100 pixels work fine but the other 35 do not. As soon as I add the 35 the 35 all come on one color and can not turn them off and stay that color the hole time. But yet when I have the test mode on and set for 135 and test port 1 the 35 go to channel 2. so that means I have to use 2 channels for 135 pixels Channel 1, 100, Channel 2, 35. Is there not a way to have all 135 on one channel. I am running 12v Kulpy Edited June 19, 2021 by Kulpy
TexasLights
I don't have my pixie hooked up at the moment, but did you press the config button and then select pixie config and set the pixie to 140 pixels per channel?
dibblejr
You can sequence up to 170 per “port” not channel. You have to set it up under advanced / pixie/ ccr config Select your number of pixels You also have to set it up in prop def. This is why I never test anything other than color order in HU and just build an easy test sequence in sequencer or SE. Also if you installed the jumper that came with the pixie controller following the instructions on the paper that came with it, remove that jumper. dibblejr
One more thing. DO NOT change the “logical resolution” in HU advance tab. That MUST remain at 50 Below is a link to my class from the VCS. JR Edited June 19, 2021 by dibblejr
Kulpy
Thank You JR, Taking out the jumper fixed it. Can I still Run cat5 to next controller? I thought that is what the jumper did
TheDucks
JP4 should ONLY be installed on the Last Controller on the chain. The RS485 spec calls for the Ends (both) of the data chain to be terminated by 120ohms. The black and red adapters have that end covered. Having extra termination is BAD, which is probably why they leave the jumper in the bag (who reads the manual FIRST). LOR did not used to have terminator this as the slower (AC, dumb)controllers were not as fussy. If you have an older controller LAST, you can make the terminator by connecting a 120ohm (wattage not critical) between the Blue and the White-Blue wires of a old CAT5 cable (or a 1/4W size 120ohm will fit into a RJ45 plug)

dibblejr
9 hours ago, Kulpy said: Thank You JR, Taking out the jumper fixed it. Can I still Run cat5 to next controller? I thought that is what the jumper did That's the other pins. The instructions included tell you to place on a jumper that will allow some different configurations. 99% will not need the jumper for that purpose. The needed jumper is just in front of the Data Port JP2 Edited June 21, 2021 by dibblejr
dibblejr
YOU DO NOT NEED JP4 place on JP2 and you are good. There is a reason you only get one jumper. JR Edited June 21, 2021 by dibblejr
