jkmcc
I have 4 controllers conncected. Everything was working great a couple days ago, then i was going to plug in the SD card into the MP3 and now only the main controller works.....All the lights on the other controllers blink.Could this be a bad CAT cable already even though it was working a couple days ago? cmoore60
Could be a bad cable. If possible, swap cables and see if things change.Could also be that a cable (cat5) is not plugged in well. An RJ45 socket could be the issue.Chuck
evan.a
are you sure you connected the 5e cables in the right port. cable out of controler 1 is right port. that cable should go to the next controler in the middle port. than same controler right port out. If I plug two cables in the left most connections they short out and I get no LED. I accidentally did this the other night and it scared the heck out of me seeing the LED go dark. I have to connect them like Evan says, incoming cable in the middle OR left port. Outgoing cable on the right port ONLY. Then you just daisy-chain them like that until you are done wiring. iresq
A little more clarity might help:You have 4 controllers set up and they were working fine a couple of days ago. How were you controlling them?"then i was going to plug in the SD card into the MP3 and now only the main controller works....." You were going going to or you did?"All the the lights on the other controllers blink" Are you talking about the led status lights?Since all your controllers were working and now the three after #1 is not, I don't think it has anything to do with which jack you have the cat 5 in. It really sounds like a cat 5 problem between controller 1 and 2. Definitely should switch some cords around to see if that is the problem. jkmcc
I have swapped out the CAT 5 cable and everything works. Its odd that all of a sudden the CAT 5 would be bad.

Cat5 cables will not fit in the left port. I have traced out the traces on the board. When using phone cable is where it matters. Phone cables are wired crossover and there for the in for a phone cable goes in the left port.Chuck

You must be using phone wire on your setup then. There are 3 female jacks on the controllers.1 a standard 4 pin phone jack and the center and other end are RJ45 (8 pin) Cat5 jacks. It does NOT matter using Cat5 since you cannot plug a Cat5 cable into the single phone line jack on the controller.
